Very well said, +2!

Get one of those containers of the jewellery soaking cleaners. Drop your band in that once every 3-6 months (figure you'll just rinse it with water on a regular basis right? That'll get most of the residue.

That way, any sweat that builds up as "gunk" will get eaten up by the jewellery cleaner.

Had a link I wore all the time years ago that I did that with. Always amazed me how much could accumulate between the links (a little disgusting) :)

It should go without saying - remove the watch from the band before dropping it in the jewellery cleaner.

Too me it seems like you're trying to justify your decision for which there is no need by posting a thread here. If you're happy with your choice then so be it. Personally I would never wear an expensive metal link band whilst working out.

Come on Mr. C... this is MacRumors where every one shares every pointless thing in their lives.

OP glad you're finally happy in life.

Links are typically less flexible. If it works go for it, but this wouldn't be comfortable for me.

In my years of working out. The only people that look like tools are those that are busy worrying how others look while working out.

Well judging from the many responses in threads where people brought up working out with AW there are a lot of tools here on MR.

I worked out twice with the link bracelet until my sports band arrived. It's comfortable, but the sports band is so light.

Yeah the extra weight of the link band will make your muscles uneven

I work out wearing my Link Bracelet.

I have worn link bracelets all my life and have always worn them when I workout. It's stainless steel, there is no issue with sweat as you can just rinse your link bracelet.

I'm also gonna return my sports bands not because I want to but there very tight on my wrist. :(

Why you ask?

I own the Space Black Stainless Steel watch which you guys all know only comes with a Link Bracelet. My mentality was simple.. wear the Link Bracelet at all times except when working out, then wear either your white or black Sport Band.

Day 2 of owning this beauty comes around, I put on the black Sport Band to workout, and realize it's no more comfortable than my Link Bracelet. I worked out with the Link Bracelet the next day and it was amazing.

My point is, why would I own two bands that are lesser quality, look less attractive, and aren't even more comfortable to wear while being active? I'm curious, did anybody else do the same? Thanks for listening to my rambling!

I actually don't care why.. Lol

I bought the 42mm SS w Classic Black Band (hate it) and the 42mm SSSB (LOVE it!)

I bought the white, black, and pink sports bands. I didn't like them they look great on other people but not me. I returned them and got the light brown leather loop and the Milanese (love them!)

Besides it would be unethical to have them as I do not play any sports, nor exercise!!;) I do walk, stand, move, stretch and breathe when my apps tell me to!! Does that count??:p

I bought a sports band to keep my Sssb as clean as possible. What happens when I scratch it up? Can I polish off any scuffs with that DLC? Can I swap out my watch with apple care that I bought?

I wouldn't work out in my link bracelet and always wear the sports bands. My workouts are quite active and my link bracelet is ever so slightly looser than how I wear my sports band. I also don't like the idea of getting sweat in every little part of the bracelet. Easy to clean the watch, less so the link bracelet.

So you don't sweat only when you work out? Could you tell me how you do that? "The volume of water lost in sweat daily is highly variable, ranging from 100 to 8,000 mL/day"

I was asking in this forum earlier If the link is comfortable during workouts. Thanks for the info. Dou you wear it tight?

So what you are think the 1980s Casio stretch band is better looking then the sport and? Granted the black is better then silver but it's still fit for old people.

Ha ha.

Of course I sweat when I don't work out. But I sweat a lot more when I do work out. The sports band is much easier to clean. And I find the sports band more comfortable and more convenient to work out in than my link bracelet. I also enjoy swapping the bands around and giving my watch a fresh look.

It's all down to personal taste. If you want to wear a sports band, great. If not, cool. But come up with a better point next time (I don't think it deserves to be called an argument).

I got my watch with the Milanese loop and love it but after receiving my black sports band it is more comfortable to wear during work than the Milanese loop.

Do you have any concerns with the sweat from your body potentially adding to increased wear and tear on your link band as well as scratching potential?

Sweat is not going to "increase wear". It is stainless steel with a DLC coating. As about as durable as my Rolex with a solid gold band. Sweat is not going to hard it. It is also quite comfortable.

Because the sport band won't scratch my MBP when I'm working on it

Typing with your wrists resting on the laptop body is associated with an increased risk for developing carpal tunnel. The best way to avoid injury while typing is to keep your hands floating above the keyboard.

Thanks, I know :) I try to do that, but a Sport band may prove safer for me in some circumstances.

My other plan is to use the Sport band during gardening sessions, when all kinds of assorted cr*p will otherwise get deep into the links.

I wear it tight enough that it doesn't move on my arm, and loose enough that it doesn't feel restricting during workouts. I am one of the lucky ones that isn't between links when it comes to sizing. :)

Wonderful advice, thank you!

IMO, you would look like a tool working out in a metal link bracelet. I'm picturing you on an elliptical reading your kindle.

If he's comfortable wearing a link bracelet while working out, why would he look like a tool? It's not like he will be running in sandals and white socks.
