If the screen was AMOLED I would want a black one. On my Nexus when watching bordered movies it is a seemless transfer between the bezel and screen. I love it. But standard LED/LCD displays don't have that effect.

I got a white one cause it looks cool IMO and everything else is black I own.

Though black is my favorite color it is excessively used in my opinion and it does get old so its nice to have white as a option.

Biggest problem with white is the tendency to go to a off-white (yellowish) over time.

Sometimes underlying stereotypes comes through with humor and sarcasm. Kind of like telling an ethnic joke.

And sometimes the "victim" of a joke gets all butthurt when, at the end of the day, sometimes a joke is just a joke.

Ipad is white....Car is white.....What can I say...I love white.

Evolution- Have you seen a white ithing go yellow over time? I only ask because I'm thinking of swapping out my black for white (I haven't even gotten it yet ) but if they do in fact go yellow, I'd just as soon save the time. I mean, I'll have a cover on it, and it isn't like I'm going to be leaving it in a sunlit window.

Between my black iPad 2 and my white new iPad, I definitely prefer the white. The white screams Apple where the black is... just black, and may be mistaken for any other tablet.

99.9% I'll buy a white one. Looks more alternative than the obvious black that you find on any kind of electronic equipment. I also like that the bezel has less glare, since I find it annoying to see my face reflected on the black border.
Pros and cons highlighted here have also shifted me towards white.

I had a black iPad 1 and the white is definitely refreshing.

Yeah, I went with white this time around too and it’s a nice change (and makes it looks quasi-futuristic :D ). We have a black iPad (FG), and both our iPhones are black so it’s a our first white iDoodad.

FWIW, my display looks amazing, not yellow, pink, checkered or plaid.

:)

My preferred color depends on the device. I absolutely hated the iPhone 3GS in white, but I love the iPhone 4/4S in white. And as soon as I saw the iPad 2 in white I knew that was the color for me.

I like White because it is so fresh, so clean. However, I have typically gone with black since white yellows over time and gets dirty easier. Black tends to look the same the day you bought it.

the glass is on top of the white.. is it not? or am i missing something, in anyway case, black shows finger prints more. ever seen a white grand piano vs a black grand piano?

I like off-white yellow/beige, and look forward to when that happens. Unique and elegant. Like a patena that copper gets over time.

Before I got my first iPhone, I loved the iPhone 4s in black but once I finally got it, I changed it for the white model for two reasons. The first reason was because the black iPhone reminded me too much of my black iPod touch. Besides the thickness differences, they looked the same. I guess I wanted it to feel like I actually got a new device. The second reason was because scratches and fingerprints don't show up as much. I can't say the next iPhone I get though wont be black. As for the iPad, I got the white model to match my white iPhone but the screen was DOA so I took that's a sign and upgraded to 32gb and swapped for the black iPad. I'm very satisfied!
