eBay

I sold my iphone 5 32gb black/slate with AppleCare plus with 2 claims good condition with 2 cases for 500 on eBay sold it 2 weeks ago so I could pre-order

Tmo Black Unlocked iPhone 5 16gb, I sold it last month on amazon for 550 :) but they charge around 40 as commission

I plan to sell my iPhone 5 64gb, mint condition with no scratches, only six months old (had the original replaced), and have anti-glare film on screen. Will be asking $530 for it as compared to used prices on amazon. I'll provide a case as well..... Possibly. Not sure if $530 is too low, apple buy back program offered $400.

I'll put mine on Craig's list a few days before Friday like I did last year with my 4s.

Probably trade in my iPhone 4S 16g to apple for $200 when I pick up the 5s.

Use Amazon.

They'll give you $220 for a good condition 4S 16 GB.

$240 for an excellent condition.

Either way, much better than Apple trade-in prices.

$530? I also have a 64GB mint iPhone 5. Trade in through Nextworth.com is $451. I guess I'll try Craigslist again. Maybe I'll have better luck this year.

Just sold a couple of my older ones:

At&t unlocked iPhone 4S white 32GB on e-bay for $435

At&t unlocked & jailbroken iPhone 4S black 64GB on e-bay for $485

Sold my unlocked iphone 5 black 16 gb for 520 dollars on craigslist.... no percentage to anyone good money for the 5S!

Wow, the price Amazon is offering for unlocked iphone 5 has plunged. $165 for good condition 32gb model.

Iphone 5 AT&T 16 gb locked for $384 to nextworth. Will send in when gold 5s arrives.

eBay / PayPal charge a total of 12-13% in commission / fees.

I'm confused a bit

I just ordered the 5s for $199, and if I'm not mistaken, I can sell my iPhone 5 16GB for $$$

What confuses me is: it seems too good to be true. I get a new phone, while making money? It's just a regular iPhone, not unlocked

WTF am I missing ?

( I sold my 4 on Ebay as I recall, but it was a while ago, and I may have forgotten some details)

The actual cost of the phone is $650 if you bought it off contract. You are charged $199 when you sign a 2 year contract because the carrier is covering the other $400 for you (since you are on board for two years). In fact, selling the 5S for $200 is a ripoff even if you think it is a good deal because you can easily sell it for $350.

I'm aware of all this, obviously ( yikes, I'm not demented...yet)

Point is, I buy and sell stuff. This type of thing makes me pause as it's like a loophole. You see what I mean?

I guess I'm not missing anything.

Yikes what a scam.....( still don't believe it)

I know what you mean but it isn't quite a scam to you because you willingly sign 2 year contracts at a minimum of $80 a month. Many people aren't willing to do that and want an iPhone at $40 a month on their own plan. You're essentially paying $1,000 more (over 24 months) but don't notice the monthly cost, you only notice that you get to "make" $100 selling an older phone. While others pay $100 more but save $1,000 over the life of a 2 year contract.

Not saying your way is wrong or right. I need the unlimited data and texts so it makes sense for me to sign a 2 year contract.

I unlocked my white iPhone 5 64GB through AT&T and sold it on Amazon for $699 last month. I sold it before the 5S was announced so I could get the most $$ for it.

The phone is worth more money when not tied to a contract. There isn't any loophole to it.
