How many people actually use their phones with one hand? I've always used two hands -- hold the phone in one hand and tap it with the other, even when I had the original iPod touch.I said but you need two hands, why?

The mini models are without a doubt discontinued, but I meant the form factor. I suspect a weaker demand results longer than yearly breaks between refreshed. The terminology I use is probably still incorrect, I'm not a linguist...When something is no longer produced or provided (i.e., no longer for sale), it’s been discontinued. Source: Merriam-Webster.
another 2-3 years from now, that's a solid amount of padding before having to figure out next move, even if permanently doomed options wise at that point in time.Others, like me, will hold off. We will replace the battery get maybe another 2-3 years and then upgrade.
would sacrifice features for compactness if forced to choose

When I was young, I craved The New. Now, I wish I still had my 1964 Chevy and my 2012 MINI Cooper. None of the others left a lasting impression.another 2-3 years from now, that's a solid amount of padding before having to figure out next move, even if permanently doomed options wise at that point in time.
I think some people are coming up on 9 years with se1 lol, and probably plenty of 6s users that have had the device for going on the full decadefor headphone jack or physical touchID or most likely just plainly not caring to upgrade their phone and holding onto their cash
Ive did his part: He provided elegant designs that aligned with users desires and preferences and motivated Engineering to push the envelope. The failure of the 2019 Intel MacBook Pro was not due to design, but due to Engineering that failed to deliver components that achieved design intents.Apple always trends to thinner devices. Problem was I’ve shoving thinness over functionality when the processors or internals didn’t support. I don’t want Apple to go back to Ives obsession with thinness. If you have internals to make it work, great, or make what’s possible.
I’ve always used one-hand and find it unnatural to use two hands to operate a phone. This has been the case with various flavors of landline, mobile and smart phones for me. The only exception was the pay phone where I held the handset in one hand and used the other hand to fish coins out of my pocket and enter them into the coin receiver. 😉How many people actually use their phones with one hand? Well said. iPhones really are so good that each update cycle is only delivering marginal improvements for many users.another 2-3 years from now, that's a solid amount of padding before having to figure out next move, even if permanently doomed options wise at that point in time.

Well, thanks to the increasing size of the new iPhones (starting at 6.3”), the next iPhone SE 4 being at 6.1” with the same exact dimensions as the iPhone 14 means it will still be the smaller model. So there was a 13 mini and an SE 3rd gen that were all based on the 13 architecture? I can't keep all these models straight. Will the new SE 4th will be the next Mini with the guts of the 15? Seems kind of premature to call the smaller size dead when they're selling the bejeezus out of them with the letters S and E tacked on the end instead of M I N and I.
I do.How many people actually use their phones with one hand? I've always used two hands -- hold the phone in one hand and tap it with the other, even when I had the original iPod touch.
Same here, every 5 years is plenty for me. Would I welcome the option for more frequent updates? Sure. But having enjoyed the iPhone 7 size for many years, then iPhone SE when it became basically that same size, I’m also fine with the SE lineup. The fact that a kind relative gifted me a 13 mini has been just icing on the cake, i.e. it still feels like I’m using roughly the same size phone for the past 8 years or so, just a hair smaller (or at least narrower). Love to have this option. My teen loves her iPhone 13 mini. I would have problem finding her an upgrade after few years. Oh well, I wouldn’t complain if Apple releases iPhone mini every 5 years.
Fair but I'd also assume those are not the same people reading/posting on fan forums. My father ran first intel iMac for almost ten years? The bootup was about 20 minutes? It was PAINFUL.another 2-3 years from now, that's a solid amount of padding before having to figure out next move, even if permanently doomed options wise at that point in time.

count me in the every X (5?) years for a mini.Same here, every 5 years is plenty for me. Would I welcome the option for more frequent updates? Sure. Bingo. Premium features in a compact form = premium pricing. Apple started leaving money on the table when they started tying premium features to bigger phones. Those who want bigger phones bought the bigger phones. I suspect many who wanted compact size traded down and paid less.I had a 12 mini and the battery life was fine for using as a phone. If your phone is a multimedia entertainment center, you'll want something with a larger screen and battery. I switched to the pro for the better camera and I don't regret it, but I do so much miss the mini form factor. I would buy a new mini in a heartbeat if they put in the latest camera and 120Hz screen. In fact I would pay more for the mini than for the Pro Max or whatever, that's how much I loved the form factor.
For me it was the price point, and it bviously Apple doesn’t want to canabalize their own product by selling a cheaper product that does the same thing. So the mini has to be close to the price of the larger form factor, which in most monkey brains don’t make sense so no one boughtSome people loved the mini size but most people didn’t — so it was discontinued due to poor sales
Wow, thats actually good for a 12 mini.Did the 12Mini have better battery support than the 13Mini? I ask only because I rarely hit low power mode on my 12Mini. I just checked the battery health and it is 89% and it still has the original battery. I use and abuse it daily.
13 Mini owner here.I have the 15pro but had the 13mini sitting in a drawer. Decided last night to swap back and try it out. My lord this this is so much better. The only reasons I went with the 15pro were the camera and I swear there’s a defect in the mini where it overheats and drains the battery. I do think the newer iOS has maybe addressed that. I love the lighter weight and smaller form factor. If this thing had the camera of the 15pro I’d have paid whatever for it to be in the mini. I guess I’ll keep the 15Pro around for when I want the camera. Such a shame we can’t get a pro level mini. It was never a price point issue for me. I don’t know anyone that uses that weird fisheye wide lens anyway.
