Why are you making a appointment when its clearly your fault?
Because I can.Ya never know.
Because I can.Ya never know.
This is a photo of iPhone after a few minutes of use with clean hands. I touch my friends iPhone 6 and he gets no finger prints. SO i def think something is off. I am making a genius bar appt soon.
I don't trust apples coating on their displays AT ALL. It already ruined my RMBP display a few weeks ago and had to get it replaced.
Surprises me that they'd makes point of making this a kind of selling point when it seems it can just rub off over time anyway!
OP also mentioned he had a home button he wanted looked at. But, yes, going against the manufacturer's recommendation on a lot of things will have "unexpected" results.![]()
What about screen protectors removing this coating?
Genuine question as some hand mentioned it and I'm intrigued about the toughness of this oleohobic coating![]()
"It" ruined your rMBP display?
What, pray, is "It"? Sandpaper? Acid wash? Flamethrower?
I'm on my second rMBP, travel constantly with it, and am the Fingerprint Police when it comes to the display, to the point of OCD. I just cannot abide fingerprints on my lovely display. Yet a gentle rubbing with a clean, water-dampened microfiber or terrycloth towel is all I've ever needed. Apple recommends nothing but a dampened, soft cloth ...they even provide a lovely microfiber cloth suited for the purpose. See http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1678/en_US/macbook_pro-retina-mid-2014_ipig.pdf
The OP's description of a vinegar solution makes me shudder. That's a wonderful, effective old-timey approach for cleaning hard surfaces, but expensive electronic and optical equipment? Oh dear.
If you're going to cover with a screen protector, what difference does it make?
The home button clicking problem/not having the desired sound the OP mentioned seems like the kind of issue that anal-retentive people obsess over. Anal-retentive issues don't typically go far with Geniuses.
The keyboard and the trackpad scratched it off when it was closed apparently. The genius even confirmed it and they replaced it for free even though my warranty expired 10 months ago
