My daughter just recently graduated out of bootcamp and is in tech school right now. She wants to get a laptop RIGHT now but only wants a macbook. They sell macs at the AF base exchange but wants to wait...until she gets home from tech school so that HER and I can go into our APPLE store to get her her first mac. ;):D I was so touched. haha. Ain't she sweet? :p

My husband bought an Acer laptop and swiftly regretted not getting a macbook. He just didn't want to wait for one. He gave it to our son and it lasted only 2 years. ;)

When he said "Scuse me" i would have said "sorry i dont talk to people who use plastic laptops, with crappy operating systems, officially the worst reliablility record of any machine, poor quality screens, which dont have magsafe adaptors, use budget graphics cards, have the worst most terrible of all laptop speakers, weigh a massive amount, dont come with Applecare, dont have an iSight, and look poorly designed"
Because computers define their users, especially the indifferent that don't do anything else except use the internet.

They never tried OSX so they don't know that OSX works much better than windows for most type of apps.

That and sour grapes syndrom.

you guys are too funny! Like I said, I was surprised that he just casually walked up to me and said what he said. I'd like to think I'm a congenial person and this didn't really annoy me as much as surprise me but still, I have to ask WHY!?

As a Photographer and avid car enthusiast, I'm no stranger to the "my camp is better than your camp" debate but with automobiles it comes with the territory and some could argue the same with cameras. From what I understand is that you get a macbook pro because of its ease of use and productivity potential. Never a problem with any mac I've ever owned and once you buy one, they last for ages! My last mac was a Dual G5 PPC and it lasted 5 years! Why did I upgrade...Snow Leopard.

I never even considered a PC when it came time to upgrade to a new computer and right now I'm glad I stayed with Apple. I was able to do a side by side of a supposedly superior machine. In the end, I guess PCs only look good on paper but I'm not the person to prove it. Maybe they should run an ad campaign of PC users picking fights. Yeah, I think I'll call TBWA.

But hey an Acer is cheaper, so you find it, you keep it.

hey, my macbook isn't brilliant, but it works...
;)

I just go to Preferences>Mac or Windows. I click Mac.

Simply put, it's a choice of what we BUY. We aren't inventing and building the crap, so to get so defensive about either platform is pointless.

I let Apple and Microsoft do the fighting with their pot shot commercials.

I will say it's nice not having to turn of my UMBP in over a week and having it feel like a fresh boot.
