When ur already a iPhone user??????

It really pisses me of that I must wait, I mean put me in another 2 year contract. I've been a iPhone user since day 1 & I believe that I should always be able to get "The cheaper price" when new iPhones come out with the 2 year contract of course.

I thought the Royal wedding was on Friday? Your royal treatment was only good for one day. Get a job and pay for the full price of a white iPhone if you want one. You don't deserve special treatment because you had an iPhone since 'day one'.

What is the point of a new 2 year contract if you have no intention of fulfilling it whenever a new iphone comes out....oooh

I hope you realize OP, that you are asking to buy an iPhone 4 when you already have an iPhone 4.

The White and Black iPhone 4s are exactly the same except color. (some say that the sensor and antenna is better though). So no it's not a new hardware upgraded iPhone, it's just a different color.. people need to stop judging iPhones by how they look externally.

we're hearing "Omg the iPhone 5 will have the same design? oh then it's a minor upgrade", and now once the white iPhone 4 was released we're hearing "Omg the color is different! Why won't they let me switch for a white iPhone 4? It's much better than the black one! and it's new!" c'mon people.

Sold my black 16 for 500 and bought the white 16 for 600.

Try the same.

Where did you sell it for 500?

Instead of bringing your false sense of entitlement here, sell your black one and buy a while one. If you're patient enough you'll be out less than $199.

You've all destroyed the poor OP. I think the problem here is that Apple generally has amazing customer service and a lot of customers feel like this should always be the case no matter what. Smashed my iPhone on the ground - Apple should replace it for me; I bought a MacBook Air but a new MacBook Pro came out and I want it - Apple should take my MBA back with no restocking fee; I just bought an iPhone and Apple drops the price 3 months later - I should get my money back and on and on. And the first year it seemed like that was what was done for us early adopters. We bought the original iPhone, and when the 3G came out they wanted to charge us full price but then AT&T came out and said that actually we could buy it at the upgrade price and without much explanation it just seemed as though Apple and AT&T were being "nice guys" to us early adopters. The fact is though, no one has to do anything for you because you're an early adopter (as amazing as that would be). In the end Apple has shareholders who want returns on their investment.

Don't burn the guy though, he'll soon realize that even though being an Apple customer doesn't mean getting everything you want (i.e. free stuff), a lot of the time they hook you up and do nice things for you (courtesy replacements, expedited shipping upgrades, yada yada) and that's the beauty of buying from them.

OP - This thread isn't going the way you planned is it? :D

You're falling into the trap that Apple set, by being silent about correcting the faults with the original Antennagate model.

They have made some subtle, yet significant improvements. You must be new and unfamiliar with how Apple operates. They rarely admit fault, but instead go silent and quietly fix it.

Right after Antennagate it was widely publicized, that Apple advertised for, and hired several antenna engineers. The result of their very good work is revealed in the white phone.

Now that I've had both, my personal experience reveals the white phone is a fantastic model. Something that I could not say about my black antennagate model.

I believe in Apple.

I knew I could count on them to build a great phone. They just needed a kick in the ass to get it done.

Sometimes their wild success goes to their head and they get complacent. You cannot blame them, lots of companies do this.

You cannot just expect rebate price for every new product released... even if it's just a color change. Your iPhone is technically used and hence it is not exchangeable. If it were brand new and sealed I would see why it should be changed for same price.

That's how it works with all phones and all networks. You're not gonna get special treatment cause you have an iPhone.

Hey OP are you on AT&T or Verizon, I am in the market for a new iPhone, if you pay the cost of the white iPhone 4 that is what I will get then you can trade me your black iPhone 4 ( assuming it is in good shape).

*snicker*

Seriously?

(did I miss the sarcasm or something?)

As the world of today stands phone providers make more money from new customers then they do existing customers, very few now offer loyalty bonuses weather your loyal to a brand or network they no longer care. It's irrelevant to them, they just care how many handsets they shift at a pre agreed margin, to them margin = bonus and bonus motivates staff to poach more new customers. Loyalty stands for nothing want a White iPhone buy a engage a new contact or boy one of the boys conversion kits that's currently topic of discussion on here :)

What trap are you talking about? Please explain.

Apple is selling the black Antennagate phone alongside the greatly improved white phone with redesigned components.

Most notably a great new antenna designed by the antenna engineers they hired after Antennagate.

They are representing these two as the same phone.

The white phone has excellent telephone performance, far better than the black one. I know.

I've had three black and two white.

They deny it's thicker even though measurements prove differently.

They are being sold as though the only difference is color. That's a trap.

Don't believe it?

Read the reports on the web. Even pro Apple sites are verifying the differences.
