Suit yourself! No wonder Apple is a trillion dollar company if there are people willing to pay one grand for a couple of new features introduced via software updates HAHA
You forgot about the fact that the camera has a larger sensor.

Yes, they're a trillion dollar company because they're making fabulous products, don't kid yourself, there will be people camping out. If the new phones are not for you, that's fine. I don't buy phones annually, many people do. What ever floats your boat.

Eh. Like I said, OIS on the telephoto lense is absent on the 8 Plus and i find myself wishing I had that at least once a week. And while the sensor is obviously important, it’s not everything when it comes to image quality. Image processing is pretty important and Apple is finally augmenting theirs with machine learning. HDR and portrait shots should be noticeably better, and I take a lot of HDR shots.

This all might be incremental for you, but everyone’s use case is different. ;)
OIS.. on a tiny telephoto lens.. on a phone.. is more marketing than it is results/IQ. I can all but promise you.

Its offensive that Apple puts a 326 ppi LCD screen on a phone in 2018 and sells it for €850. It is strikingly worse than the 401 ppi screen of the plus models, let alone the OLEDs. Thats a major dealbreaker since you literally look at the screen every time you pickup the phone. The new old stock iPX would be a much better value in my view despite the older processor.

But the 264 PPI display onmy 10.5” iPad Pro is gorgeous. Hmmm.

We all know Apple has been becoming progressively greedier and greedier and many people have been ok with that, but this year i think it's time that we say stop.

$999 for a phone that has literally not a single new feature besides slight improvements in water resistance and some "bokeh" crap that could literally be added as a software update. The a12 has only a 5-10% increase in performance cpu based on slides and the gpu upgrade won't be noticeable for at least the next 2 years.

the Xr could have been a success but it ended up too expensive considering it's a single camera with removed features like 3d touch. and what's with that disgusting bezel that looks worse than the iphone 8's bezel??

Maybe it's time to skip a generation and tell them that we're not gonna put up with being milked this easily?

Most people skip one or two generations in between new phone purchases anyway. The target audience in the grand scheme of things is not the tech nerds who buy every new model every year.

I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but I’m going to go with the numerous videos and pics that I’ve seen shot on smartphones with no OIS vs those that have it over your promises and assurances.

Well, according to this article over at The Verge, it's a brand new sensor with larger pixel size. That coupled with suspected new optics and all the extra processing power in the A12 should mean a marked improvement in photo quality. Of course, we won't know for sure until some hands on reviews next week at the earliest.
I'd like to quote the article that you've provided me with: "The biggest hardware upgrade this year is the new, larger 12-megapixel sensor. Last year Apple said the 8 and X sensor was “larger” than the 7’s, but teardowns revealed that this wasn’t meaningfully true; the field of view and focal length of the lens didn’t change. This time, though, Apple is citing the increased pixel size, which should indeed make a difference"
Which means that this year Apple might have lied again. We are going to have to wait to see if there are any REAL improvements.

glad sales aren't doing too well

Based off what exactly? Did Apple verify anything? We are three days into Preorders, let’s not exacerbate anything here. A prediction from analysts doesn’t hold much value.

Whats your problem people have upgrade plans so dont pay for the whole phone and upgrading yearly is cheaper, and all specs are upgraded and max is a huge update to me if u dont want it then don't buy it

this is the first year where even 3 days after release ALL MODELS are shipping either on the day of release, or within 1 week of release (never happened before).

and don't even bother "Oh they have stock now!!" their stock has always been limited since 2007 they didn't just magically fix it this year.
[doublepost=1537178826][/doublepost]oh and for those who haven't figured it out yet:

- the better the sales, the worse the pricing will be (in the future)
- the worse the sales, the better the pricing will be

Wait.. you stated:

So you’re suggesting because Apple has more supply this year compared to years in the past means ‘sales aren’t doing well’? Again, based off what? Do you also have inside information of Apples suppliers and how much stock they have?

Please, if you wouldn’t mind answering the question(s) this time versus insinuating your own logical fallacy.

If you’re complaining about yearly phone upgrades not being significant enough, perhaps you’re complaining for the wrong reasons.

Why should you need a new phone every year? Are these expensive devices so bad that they are only good for a year?

Do you upgrade your computer every year? Or does it last you numerous years, even while you skip subsequent versions that are slightly improved?

What about your car? Do you get a new car every year, when the new model is released and has minimal improvements over the previous model year?

Just curious.

We do? Nonsense. i certainly don't "know" or believe that.

"could have been a success"? :p It will undoubtedly be the best selling phone Apple has ever produced

I don't care about the price staying the same, or a slight increase of 50- 100 dollars.
HOWEVER Xs and Xs Max combo is an iPhone/iPhone Plus line up. Last year Apple uses 8/8+ as a reason to jack up the price of X, did you all just forget that?. Apple's reason for $1000 X was that X is a revolutionary product but with the new Android phones(NEX, Find X, Mix 2s), Xs is no longer revolutionary, and nothing justifies its pricing.
Xr should be wayyyyyy lower at $549 at most, as it is technically a successor of SE but with lots of changes. While Apple is comparing it with 8+.
It is hard to leave Apple's ecosystem, but I am seriously considering it. For Apple's pricing, I need a very good laptop, and the best phone on the planet, Apple is not delivering it for these years.

I was saying all this last year and skipped last generation. However my current phone is in it's 4th year (longest I've kept any cell phone) and I do need to upgrade (mostly for space reasons) so I'm getting a new Xs. At least it costs the same as last years model but 'slightly' better...

I don't think Apple cares if people upgrade every year. They will have upgrades from previous generations here on out. They are focusing on longevity of the device, regular updates, and 5 year support. This will keep customer coming back as they know they are getting a solid product that is there for the long haul. Yearly upgrades are just too easy so they'll take them, but it's not needed. Old iPhone's perform great. If you don't feel compelled to upgrade, don't. I wouldn't expect massive changes every year though, that's just silly.
