Provided that you're not diseased in any way, tell the 'Genius' that you spilled a bowl of beef stew on your MB. That would account for the smell and they may actually attempt to fix it.

The best MB horror story that I've read so far involves some long shot from a female during sexy-time. I seriously doubt anyone will top that.

To have a chance to maintain warranty, OP might need to buy a new top case from third party and install it.
