If they are using Fedex overnight: regular overnight delivers by noon (expedited by 10 am). Unless Apple has a special shipping case that gives them all day to deliver.

The guy winked and said, “I’ll see what I can do..”

Makes me wonder if you weren't the only person to bribe him for early delivery on the 24th...

These Fed-Ex guys are probably getting killer deals from anxious customers dying to get their hands on their iPhone 4's. Wouldn't it be something if this Fed-Ex guy had an iPhone 4 of his own that he ordered and instead of doing his routes he just synced his phone to iTunes before all the mayhem and played with it all day. :p

Or you could just have it held at the FedEx station instead of it being delivered. Once you have the tracking number, call the 800 FedEx number and tell them you want it held (Hold At Location). You will be able to pick it up from there as soon as they open which is typically 8-9am. Trust me on this, I used to work for FedEx.

I'm actually thinking of doing this!
I wasnt sure if they would allow me to do it though.

Well this we be my first iphone and well I had a package delivered by FedEx on the 15th and thought I could see what I could do to be the first delivery. So as he is making me sign for package I told him I have a deal for him. If he would bring me my package on the 24th first I would kick back with 50 bucks and a 12 pack of beer. The guy winked and said, “I’ll see what I can do..” Looking back at it I must be desperate as hell to get my hands on it. We shall see what happens LOL

Why would you bribe him if the iPhone is coming on the 24

That's odd today my Fedex guy stopped by I said I give him a $100 and a case of beer if he accidentally left any small boxes from Apple on the 15th. I am guessing you are not his only iPhone bribe!

Sure you can. People do it all the time, especially ones from out of town who are waiting to catch a plane. Plus, it's one more stop off the drivers' route.

What's going to be great is when he shows up and claims you were his first delivery, when in reality your neighbor is filming the bribe on his new iPhone 4 and will eventually end up with more than $50 and a pack of beer. :D

Just called the UPS store a couple miles from me and they said it wont be delivered from them, it will come from the "hub" at the airport.

Shucks, looks like I can't pick it up.

I'm a guy coming from a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone.. badddddd:D
Well, that rules out one option. ;) :p :D

OP, be sure to let us know how it works out on the 24th.

Because UPS isn't delivering them, FedEx is. And UPS brand store (old Mail Box Etc. stores) don't deliver anything they only package shipments and sell supplies.

You would have to pick it up directly from the FedEx station that the routes come out of, not FedEx Kinkos either.

Before calling UPS I called FedEX and they told me they don't do deliveries and to call UPS.

And I don't think I've ever seen a FedEX truck come to my house, only the big brown UPS truck.

If you can go to fedex.com and enter zipcode "96707" and tell me which FedEX location I should be calling please.

You have the call their toll-free number. They don't give out the hub numbers. And searching by zip code won't always tell you which one will deliver it it's usually not consistent.

While this is kind of hilarious, do you really think it would make a difference getting it a few hours earlier? I mean you're already waiting a week, whats a couple more hours? Unless you're trying to get in before the activation servers get clogged up...

lol in before network activation collapse... I have a feeling people are going to be waiting 3x longer than expected due to the overwhelming activation server cluster**** on launch day. MARK MY WORDS!

I predict AT&T will crash that day.
