I had the iPhone 7 Plus waiting for the Apple to release a phone with Apple Pencil support and Real multitasking capabilities. They failed miserably. I hadn't had an Android since the Note 2, and with this Note 9 im very excited. Apple Keynote is a week away, and Apple is so boring and stale there is no neeed to wait and see what they come up with..

You’re a marine. You aren’t supposed to whine like a baby about how you didn’t get what you wanted.

It was a bit of a fools errand to be patiently waiting for Apple to deliver something they’d never promised or even hinted an intention to deliver. The two things you want have been available elsewhere the whole time, so it’s nobody’s fault but yours for not taking it up.

I’ve had Apple computers exclusively from 2003 through 2017. I’ve also bought iPhones since the iPhone 4.

Last year I bought a PC because my 8 year old Max mini just didn’t cut it anymore. Needed a new computer, Mac mini hadn’t been updated in YEARS and an iMac is out of my price range. I had to settle with an HP tower. It works fine. Windows is still not as “clean and easy” to use as Mac OS but like I said, it works fine for my needs. Sucks being lower “middle class”.

Also I broke my iPhone SE 2 weeks ago and I need a replacement. For the first time ever I’m considering buying an Android. I never thought that would happen. The Note 9 just seems more fun.

Plus I don’t want real 3D face scanning camera like Face ID. Also I am a photo whore. I currently have 11,473 photos on my SE. The photo quality is better on the Note 9 than then iPhone X. That’s a big factor to me when considering my replacement phone.

You have been waiting on something I doubt will happen.

Enjoy your Android as Apple is not into pencil support on its iPhones.

If the Marine Corps had wanted you to have an iPhone they would have issued you one. I guess you weren't meant to have one.

But did you tell them how you feel? It's how relationships work my friend. You can't expect your partner to read your mind and know what you want. If they don't know, they can't respond and it would be unfair to accuse them of failure because of it.

Feel his pain ..... I have an x and note 9 and honestly unless Apple comes up w a miracle they are loosing a lot of business. Their products really are booring in comparison and this comes from a huge Apple supporter ..... we’ll see next week !!
Outside of stylus support, what is so boring about an iPhone?

I Never understood how someone can say ‘Apple failed miserably’ at something when they have the most successful phone in the world, which has been proven to part of the success of this company as it is today. But just because Apple doesn’t release something to your specifications, doesn’t apply to everyone else either.

Apple Keynote is a week away, and Apple is so boring and stale there is no neeed to wait and see what they come up with.

Now that you have a Note 9, there’s no need for you to even watch the keynote, which in theory, is problem solved for you. However, I’m not sure why you even Interject this part of your post , likely just because you’re disgruntled something with the iPhone, therefore you translate your frustrations to predict the Keynote will be ‘boring’ because you yourself haven’t watched the actual Keynote yet?

If you feel truly happy about living with a Samsung and Android device then do it. For me, both of those things are horrific and not my style. But, each to their own. Maybe, you'll appreciate iOS more in the long run. Sometimes, you don't know how good something is until... it's gone!

You won't be disappointed with the Note 9. I have it from my iPhone X and nothing Apple has can compare to it. It is in another league of it's own. I can actually be productive and use my phone for almost anything from personal to business.

Sorry man, but you are incorrect.

Samsung
The world's most popular smartphone brand saw its market share dip year-on-year from 20.8 per cent to 20.5 per cent, despite favourable reviews of its flagship Galaxy S9 and S9+ and Note 8.

Gartner said Samsung's mid-tier smartphones faced continued competition from Chinese brands, and its growth rate "will remain under pressure through 2018, with Chinese brands' growing dominance and expansion into Europe and Latin America markets".

Apple
The release of the iPhone X in November has unsurprisingly given Apple a boost in market share (from 13.7 per cent to 14.1 per cent) in the first quarter of 2018, after the company finally added some innovation following years of incremental updates. Its overall smartphone unit sales were up 4 per cent. However, Samsung will need another technological jump to keep the momentum going and ensure that users invest in replacement handsets, according to Gartner.

"Even though demand for Apple's iPhone X exceeded that of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, the vendor struggled to drive significant smartphone replacements, which led to slower-than-expected growth in the first quarter of 2018," said Mr Gupta.

"With its exclusive focus on premium smartphones, Apple needs to significantly raise the overall experience of its next-generation iPhones to trigger replacements and lead to solid growth in the near future."

It was reported in April that Apple is working on touchless iPhones and curved screens. A new handset, possibly the iPhone XI (or iPhone 11), is expected before the end of the year.
