You won't be disappointed with the Note 9. I have it from my iPhone X and nothing Apple has can compare to it. It is in another league of it's own. I can actually be productive and use my phone for almost anything from personal to business.

Sorry man, but you are incorrect.

Samsung
The world's most popular smartphone brand saw its market share dip year-on-year from 20.8 per cent to 20.5 per cent, despite favourable reviews of its flagship Galaxy S9 and S9+ and Note 8.

Gartner said Samsung's mid-tier smartphones faced continued competition from Chinese brands, and its growth rate "will remain under pressure through 2018, with Chinese brands' growing dominance and expansion into Europe and Latin America markets".

Apple
The release of the iPhone X in November has unsurprisingly given Apple a boost in market share (from 13.7 per cent to 14.1 per cent) in the first quarter of 2018, after the company finally added some innovation following years of incremental updates. Its overall smartphone unit sales were up 4 per cent. However, Samsung will need another technological jump to keep the momentum going and ensure that users invest in replacement handsets, according to Gartner.

"Even though demand for Apple's iPhone X exceeded that of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, the vendor struggled to drive significant smartphone replacements, which led to slower-than-expected growth in the first quarter of 2018," said Mr Gupta.

"With its exclusive focus on premium smartphones, Apple needs to significantly raise the overall experience of its next-generation iPhones to trigger replacements and lead to solid growth in the near future."

It was reported in April that Apple is working on touchless iPhones and curved screens. A new handset, possibly the iPhone XI (or iPhone 11), is expected before the end of the year.
Market share is meaningless to Apple and I don’t know how mr. Gupta knows what the expectations are.

No split screen multitasking

How easy it is to make the iPhone support apple pencil?

There is no guarantee that Apple Pencil support will or will not be there. Rumors are rumors for a reason. Wait till Wednesday to hear what Apple says. Hopefully, AP support will be included.

Split-screen multi-tasking won't be in because iOS 12's unveiling would've included it in the keynote.

Sometimes Apple waits to disclose little hidden gems. You never know, but you’re probably right.

Alright we'll let Apple know so they can make a phone that fits your personal needs, especially made for you.

Stop ignoring the facts just because you don't agree with it. LOL.
Lol, alternatively believe you know what apple’s corporate strategies are and how mgmt views their business; the most secretive public company (whose business does not depend on government contracts) Their quarterly reviews talk more of ASP...

Also I broke my iPhone SE 2 weeks ago and I need a replacement. For the first time ever I’m considering buying an Android. I never thought that would happen. The Note 9 just seems more fun.

Most flagship android devices do sound “fun” on paper due to some of their crazy features but in my personal experience they always fall short when it comes to actual day to day use and reliability of a given software feature. Especially Samsung in the last few years have been all about software features to show off that people would hardly use on a daily basis.

Plus I don’t want real 3D face scanning camera like Face ID. Also I am a photo whore. I currently have 11,473 photos on my SE. The photo quality is better on the Note 9 than then iPhone X. That’s a big factor to me when considering my replacement phone.

What don’t you like about Face ID? It’s a much better and secure system than what Samsung is providing.

Also, the quality of pictures is not necessarily “better” always compared to the iPhone X. It depends on the situation and conditions you’re taking the picture. iPhone X definitely supports more dynamic range and uses a better colour correction algorithm.

Feel his pain ..... I have an x and note 9 and honestly unless Apple comes up w a miracle they are loosing a lot of business. Their products really are booring in comparison and this comes from a huge Apple supporter ..... we’ll see next week !!

Yet they still sell millions upon millions of phones. I’m sure the Max and these new devices will set even better records.

Android users still don’t seem to get the fact that it doesn’t matter how much crap the Android OEMs throw into their devices or how much cheaper they are then the iPhone. For someone who truly loves the iPhone they all still share one fatal flaw, runs ANDROID!!

Plus there’s not one cohesive system out there that can compete with Apple.

Your reply is so random and irrelevant, I don’t even know what to make of this.

However: Two things:

1.) None of Which you ‘Copied and pasted’ has any relevance to my post, as this isn’t about market share, at all. Its about the OP’s transition from device to another because of XYZ reasons. What you posted is completely random and is based on future predictions of analysts mudlsinging.

2.) As @I7guy indicated, Your article you copied and pasted is merely speculation based on nothing of which holds *No* value to Apple over market share analysts predictions.

Definitely not more secure than Touch ID which is what Samsung provides and other manufactures.

Whatever you say man. Stop trying to play it off like you weren't wrong.

- the same usual icons, on/off, just kinda booring and predictable. Not all bad. Just wish they’d mix it up !! Lol

Sounds like it’s easy to use to me - great for a phone that is bought by the young and old equally.

Best selling "iphone". Not best selling phone.
Try again. Quote from the link below:

“But today the iPhone X has an even greater claim to fame: it was the top-selling smartphone not just in China, but worldwide”

I’m not saying that’s true, but just making the point that copying any old link from the web doesn’t prove a point. It proves you can find somebody else who’s saying the same thing as you.

Not really true. On Android, every Webbrowser sucks on it's own. Chrome: no addons / no adblock. Firefox: forward button in a menu(!) on top of the screen(!!) = worse usability, slow, no Android password api support.

Other Browsers can't sync with the Browser on the Desktop.

With iOS and macOS, using Safari, I have all my history, bookmarks and tabs in-sync on all devices and on all systems, there is a content-blocker.

But you are also right a bit: Android supports real background apps (great for Syncthing) and every app supports Androids file system. On iOS I wrote a lot of mails to developers that they should support iOS 11 "files" app. Also Note 9 is really a great piece of hardware. Samsung has DEX mode to connect it to a Monitor with Keyboard and Mouse.
Nine Mail App is a giant mail client and can be the default mail app on Android with ActiveSync in the background. There is no such 3rd party iOS Mail app possible without compromising privacy, because the developers can only using Apple Push.
Also Notifications are a lot more informative even compared to iOS 12. Also the Always-On feature helps not unlock every time, because I know what happenend and if it is really interessting at the moment to unlock.

I had the iPhone 7 Plus waiting for the Apple to release a phone with Apple Pencil support and Real multitasking capabilities. They failed miserably. I hadn't had an Android since the Note 2, and with this Note 9 im very excited. Apple Keynote is a week away, and Apple is so boring and stale there is no neeed to wait and see what they come up with..

Note is perfect for your needs, it sounds like. Personally, I don’t even like the Apple Pencil. Too big and cumbersome.

Whatever you say man. Stop trying to play it off like you weren't wrong.

Telling someone they are wrong, is perfectly fine, but when you don’t provide_ any_ credible sources or a direct argument why somebody may be wrong, this not a valid argument on your behalf at all. You can’t just copy and paste some google article from some analyst saying that someone else is ‘wrong’ over something that’s not even evidential proof of Apples sales for an iPhone to begin with. Those are two things are not mutually exclusive with any of your replies in this thread, which other Members have already alluded too.

Funny, I have adblockers that work just fine with Chrome, and Samsung Internet. My bookmarks also sync fine with my desktop.

I always support what I say with links to back my statements up which you obviously ignored above.. You never do.

...I always support what I say with links to back my statements up which you obviously ignored above.. You never do.
I give you that you find some (credible?) source to back up some of what you say.

But it goes back to Apple today reports in the aggregate and these numbers are estimated and now one knows(except Apple) how much they are off.. And market share is meaningless to Apple as they take 90% of the profits in the smartphone sector.

I always support what I say with links to back my statements up which you obviously ignored above.. You never do.

When I referenced the OP regarding their decision to migrate to the Note 9 on the previous page in this thread, I wouldn’t need a link for something I validated my *opinion* on. That wouldn’t make any sense. And I also never made Any claimed facts.

My point was, you’re providing Googled paste and copy links they didn’t have any relevance to some of the other points addressed by other members in this thread. And then you pass it off like it supposed to be 100% credible, when its nothing more than an analyst prediction/mudsling. Again, those are two things that are not exclusive to each other.

You posted saying somebody was wrong in stating the iPhone X is the worlds most successful smartphone. But you’re attempting to evidence this by posting figures about the overall market share of smartphone brands. You haven’t yet posted anything that proves the original statement to be wrong.

The point I was making is that you can’t definitively prove it either way because all you will find is conjecture based on analysis, and you can Google it and find evidence supporting either side.
