i kinda think those who suggest XP, they might just want to keep having the chance of bashing windows being "ugly".

I mean, come on, for the specs of modern iMac, where is the problem running vista?

Even with modern computers, I prefer XP to Vista simply because I don't see the sense in using more resources to do the same things. I'd always go to the trouble of installing XP on computers meant for Vista (which meant driver-hunting) simply because I wasn't a fan of upgrading when I wouldn't do anything differently on the new OS compared to what I'd do on the old OS.

It's giant resource hog, won't let you do anything without it asking you first. It's a horrible system. I never minded XP really.
 
please, its not a resource hog in any sense, nobody complain when iTunes consumes 3X ram than other music manager/players

Its all about the real world experience, if you feel slow down, I take that as "not good". Otherwise, whats the point?

ask for permission before doing anything?

Now, if thats not an direct lie from apple's ads, I don't know what to say. Its simply not true.
