does it void your warranty if you put in a new hard drive?
Disk Utility can be used to report the model number - mine is shown to be a WD 3200BMV.
so i would have to switch it out? i mean im gonna get a macbook and will most likely change the HD if its easy to do. but dont want to run into some kind of trouble if something happens to my macbook while im in warranty that they wouldnt fix it.
i have recently purchased a WD3200BEVT 320Gb internal HD for my MacBook White 13" i've followed all basic instructions removed my old 80 Gb HD but when i insert the 320Gb one the machine doesnt recognise it.
in disk utility it doesnt appear if i take it out and re-insert it it then appears but when i try to partition it it says it's unable to allocate memory :s im really confussed and don't understand why this is happening.
any help please???????
