Because a white bezel results in poorer perceived contrast. I can understand that someone otherwise thinks a device looks good in white. The look maybe subjective but there's also an objective component in play here.

The 6 is the first black iPhone I've owned since the 4S and I absolutely hate it. Have been looking for a way to get a white one while still being able to get insurance for some time now but it doesn't look like it will happen. Makes such a difference for everything you do on the phone.

First iPhone (4) was white, second (5c) was black(with white back - I would've chosen black as well if I bought 5S instead; I just preferred 5c's look. I wanted to try a black bezel after using a white phone for 2 years, and my white iPhone 4 was my first smartphone ever.) and now my third (6+) is white/silver.

Main (and about the only) reason for white is that I love how my navy cases look with white color (I love navy colored cases) and unfortunately doesn't look so nice on black bezel. In fact, most cases go well with white bezel but not with black. It's a personal preference, everyone has a different taste of course.

I chose black for my 5c because I never had a case on it. I used it caseless for about a year, black bezel was nice (it was certainly calming to look at the screen at times, I will not deny) and seriously considered black again for 6+... then I thought of the case I will use for my phone (I always get elago's indigo colored case lol) and that was deal breaker for me. I originally wanted gold but the local store did not have gold in stock, and I didn't really mind silver.

My 3G, 4S, and 5 were all white, which I think overall is much nicer looking and I always thought the black/slate looked ultra cheap. I debated white again for my 6, but since the space gray is finally so light it's close to raw aluminum, I decided to give the space gray a try. Love it, but still think I'll go back to white for the iPhone 7.

iPads are different though - my iPad 4 was black which was great since the aluminum was still raw aluminum, but I went white this time for my Air 2 because even though I like the light space gray on the iPhone 6, I hate it on the Air 2 because the chamfered edges in space gray look like crap IMO. But next iPad Air 3 will most likely go back to black, but we will see.

No more black phones or tablets for me. After ten years of black devices i cant stand them. I bought a white ipad Air last year and love the color of it. My next phone will definitely be white also.

iPhone 3G - Black
iPhone 4 - Black
iPhone 5 - White
iPhone 6 - Black

iPad 2 - Black
iPad Mini - White

I tried and liked White for the iPhone 6 and iPad Mini, but soon got sick of it. I love the black face of the 6, especially with the Black Apple Leather Case. It looks and feels super professional.

Common iphone 6 released not a while ago and you are thinking about 6S. No wonder with ppl like you, apple would dare to put 1GB ram in the 6S and have it sell like hotcakes.

Don't get me wrong I won't buy it if it doesn't have at least 2gb of ram

I like black, my brother has white iphone 6 and you can see the dirt on the sides. I've always been a fan of the black version, especially the black iphone 5, in my opinion the best looking iphone ever with that stealth look.

iPhone 3G - Black
iPhone 4 - White
iPhone 5s - Black/Space Grey
iPhone 6 - White/Gold

iPad 3 - White
iPad Air - Black/Space Grey

I will probably get the Black/Whatever iPhone 7.

I keep changing my mind.
Black iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4.
White iPhone 4S, 5 and 5S.
Now I have a Space Gray iPhone 6.

I've had all black iPhones - I very nearly went to white with the iPhone 5 and 6 Plus, but in the end I stayed with the safe option. Though having seen the white iPhone 6, a little part of me wishes I had bought it instead.

I have a white iPad, as I think it looks nicer with the colourful leather cases Apple sells.

I'm changing carrier tomorrow and thus will be getting a new phone. I've got a 6 plus in space grey at the mo but think I'll get the silver / white tomorrow for a change

I've always gone for the black but this time around i decided to go with white/gold. I didn't care for the look of space gray. The white looks really good and I don't find it at all distracting. Its a nice change up.
