Yea, there was a wait from June to august. They were generally instock in august. Still, in America we don't have issues like Egypt and most of the rest of the world.

Sure we do. One of them being idiots like you walk among us and vote :D

Just kidding, but seriously, it's ok to be proud of your country, but I think it's wrong when you are on a forum with people from all over the world, and you are trying to rub it in their faces. Just my opinion...

those new laws haven't affected portugal at all

But they're so awesome! (And I've heard if anything they've changed things for the better.)

As far as the iPhone goes, you can't order from Vodafone online? Here in the US you can log onto AT&T's website and order one in contract the same as if you were a physical store, only difference is it takes couple days in shipping (which isn't really an issue at this point).

And I understand there are no Apple stores in Portugal but they don't have an online store?

Yes, we got a Apple.pt website, however they dont sell iphones.
He can order a iphone online via vodafone website, however i also doubt he will get it soon, best option is continue to checking the vodafone stores near.

About the drug stuff, Portugal haven't legalized drugs, they have however de-criminalized the consumption of the drugs, this however doesn't mean they are legal, it just means you can consume it, and the max you can get for doing it, is probably a recommendation to go to a rehabilitation facility, you can read a bit more here

for thtat trip it would be 50/75 extra €. i guess buying a 32gb version woulb be better. anyway i had an ipod touch with 32 gb and i didn't even use 16gb at all=P

However the 50 euros extra would be worth, since the unlocked cost around 900 euros here;) and in spain around 600.

But my point still stands, especially with regard to studies like this. I mean, not having to worry about an ever growing police state is nice, but less kids choosing (on their own) to not do drugs is good for everyone.

May as well go with the extra storage though. You're probably gonna have the phone at least 2 years and there's no telling how many apps and how much more music/videos you'll collect in that time. It's a good investment now because it makes the phone more future-proof (future-resistant shall we say?) plus it'll increase the resale value when you're ready for a new one.

well the trip over spain is not worth it because i want to get an iphone 4 under a contract instead of unlocked. it's cheaper on the moment and i get 1gb internet.

but you made me think, i will reconsider about getting the 32gb or not. i will give it a thought tomorrow :)

I'd definitely go for the 32GB model, like the previous poster said it will be worth more when the time comes to sell as well as be a little more "future-proof".

Yeah, you do have a point. I was just trying to point out that Legalization is another subject than de-criminalizing.
Yes the study is correct, however, i do think that there inst a strong relation.

I really doubt that the De-criminalization of drugs led to a lower consumption overall, since the attitude of the police forces and courts regarding this subject were very soft, so in practice, they updated the law to match what was being done by the police and courts.

At the same time of this law, it also appeared other programs of prevention, that led also to a increase of awareness of the society to this problem.

Sorry for the off topic:) im just trying to point out, that altho its a good thing to de-criminalize the drug use, it alone doesn't do any kind of miracle to prevent drug use.

just to say, i went ahed with the iphone 4 32gb, i returned it already. display had issues, like a red and blue line in the right side, tried to restore and wasnt able to do it, neither the assistant in vodafone store. gor returned and im waiting for a new one. unlucky :(

Sorry to hear that. Usually apple products have better QC than that. Keep trying!
