I do a lot of texting, apps and some surfing and most times I can get almost two days out of one charge. You can also turn off bluetooth and wifi if you never use it and that can extend your battery by a lot

I have learned by experience that when you have your heart set on something, you should get THAT VERY THING, because when you substitute, you end up paying DOUBLE. ONCE for the substitute, and ONCE to go back and get what you wanted in the first place....
So true. Definitely one of those lessons usually learned the hard way.

I am looking forward to seeing the future iPhone. It is only a couple of long months away. I would hate to settle for a current model and then wish to have the new one. So I am going to wait and see.

There are times I wish could have a Blackberry Bold for a few days. But I think I'd end up wanting to switch back to my iPhone after that time was up. But at least I'm not blind enough of a fanboy to not give other products a try :)

First big thanks to everyone for their help. as Im total mac head as i love my little intel mini mac, and after the iphone i want to get a black mac book.

Ok on to the phone I was quiet stunned when they said i should get a different phone. I have seen the blackberry storm as a friend has one and mmm not really keen only thing that is good is that it takes memory sticks and you can play your avi and dvix files. So Im told....

I have wanted an iphone since they came out and have waited and waited as with everything new. Wondering if I get one will it be upgraded in 12 months etc.

So finally when i went to get one as I said I was told not too this from an actual iphone user and store manager.

He said i would be better off with a blackberry , even tried to sign me up there and then. And I walked out pretty ticked to be honest.
As you don't expect to go into a store and get someone to tell you you would be better off with something you don't want.

My nephew has a iphone and he raves about how good it is and now with the new 3.0 he says its almost perfect.

I think i will wait till june as everyone advised and i wont be going back to that store.

I know I have a few months but that just means more time to surf the app store in readiness.

Though have a question what is better a monthly contract with free phone or to buy the phone and then get a contract or pay as you go?

I know more confusion

I think you're right to wait for the new one this summer. But unless I'm missing something you won't have options on your plan. I bet AT&T goes back to a 2 year contract plus an iphone data plan for the new one.

I feel your pain. I have one, and was told by an Apple Genius that I should get a Blackberry because I use email more than I use Youtube or the iPod app. I was so thrown off I couldn't finish my appointment, I was speechless.

you may wait until June, unless you can afford it, or not going to buy the iPhone 3rd Gen
