I'm waiting for an actual mod to tell me how I can set up a sticky.
AS SBG stated we tend to use stickies. We've found that for the most part they do not help. People go on posting on a given topic even if there's a sticky for that topic.

The SSD thread in the MBP forum is a great example. There's a sticky (that's fairly active) but there's also a lot of threads on SSDs in the forum.

I think we should just get rid of the stickies in the MBP/Mac Pro sections then because evidently they're useless.

I feel like your response is entirely based around following the mob mentality, I doubt you or many other people here check the Digital Video section so of course it doesn't affect you. This should be up to the people in the Digital Video section and I'm waiting for an actual mod to tell me how I can set up a sticky.

Yes, only you check the digital video section and of course theres never any dodgy thread titles elsewhere on the forum..... The rest of us are of course just sheep who's opinions are clearly less important than your own.

Just accept your in the minority on this issue and that stickies/rule changes arnt going to happen and move on! You've had multiple direct replies from mods on this issue saying no, just accept it.

Of course I'm in the minority here, I've been saying that all this time.

I put this in the Digital Video section for a reason, I just wanted to discuss it between the people in there, but instead it was moved without warning. This was meant to be a meta post. I think that really it should be up to the people in that section whether or not a sticky is placed, not up to people who never visit. Perhaps if the mod who moved it respected the fact that I want a meta discussion then this debate would never have happened.

I'm not leaving this issue alone until we agree to ask the people in the Digital Video section. If nobody there cares then I'll drop it.

I feel like this is fitting. Being a minority isn't necessarily a bad thing.

We have discussed this thread in the back room and have concluded that it has run it's course. We've made our suggestions and recommendations on what can and cannot be done regarding thread titles and stickies.

If you, or anyone, sees a thread title that is too ambiguous, you are welcome to report it at your leisure with a suggested title. The same goes for stickies. We rarely make them, so if you think a thread should be made sticky, consider it well and realize that we will take a hard look at it before deciding if it will be done. To suggest a sticky, you may report (

) the thread or send a Contact Us request.

With that said, we consider this topic and thread closed. :)
