While we're talking tabs in safari vs. firefox, if I've got around 10 tabs open in firefox, I can hit :apple:-3 and go to the third tab. I don't want to scroll through them, I can tell which one I want, especially if I'm switching between them. :apple:-{/} just doesn't cut it.

The problem with hitting :apple:-3 or 4 or whatever... is that you have to know what tab is what number.

For example if you have ten tabs open and you want a tab that is in the middle part of the tab bar, then you have to count to see if it the 5th or 6th, or whatever number.

That is when a mouse click should suffice. :D

Trackpad, ok, trackpad.

I never said I don't use keyboard shortcuts, actually I do and most of the time it's a lot faster than the mouse/trackpad.

It's not only faster, it's less disruptive to your work. Especially if you're screen spanning and your mouse happens to be in the other screen. I've installed something that puts a whopping great green circle around your curser when you move it after it's been inactive and I still have to stop what I'm doing and search for it.

I have not checked out the bookmarks synching program suggested here, but I will. That was one of the major issues holding me back from switching. But the new Firefox 3.0 has also made the decision more difficult. I don't think Firefox is that much slower than Safari any more.

Also, keep in mind that Firefox also has a lot of niceties that are still missing from Safari, including the ability to show a sidebar with all bookmarks, instead of having to open up a second window, maybe Safari 4.0 will offer that.

Also scrolling through many tabs is easier with the Firefox drop-down menu. :)

Today I switched from firefox to safari. 3.0 was freezing all the time when i played a youtube video or an online game it will freeze. Safari is great but I miss firefox's features.

if it freeze when watching youtube, you might consider a new profile, since it can't be reasonable.

Plus, this is the addon that display numbers on tab I mentioned above. "Fancy Numbered tabs"
