I'm moving soon and will be using the subway a lot and away from a charger for much longer. I was going to buy a cellular iPad mini to throw in my bag.
The iPhone+ sounds like a better option.
After seeing the device in person it's pretty large. Using it one handed isn't a worry my concern is more in regards to keeping the device in my pockets. How does it sit in jean pockets?

Yes finally its good to know all the apple fanboys that used to hate huge android phones are now praising and in love with iPhone 6 plus. Why because well its made by Apple ofcourse.

You hit the nail on the head and you are 100% right. I already have 5.1 inch screen but is going on eBay soon. I trust Apple products much more then any other out there and that's based on my personal experience for nearly 10 years.

It definitely doesn't sit like the 5S does, and you'll see a notable outline unless you have super baggy jeans on. I wear slim fitted jeans and while the outline is present, it's doable to sit and walk around with it in jeans pockets. I don't imagine the 6 would make a huge difference from this perspective. Heck, even my 5S showed its outline in my jeans, albeit with a smaller frame.

I love my iPhone 6 plus and my retina iPad mini and still use both because the mini still has a lot bigger screen and prefer it for most things when I am lying around. Iphone 6 plus is great when I do not want to pull out the iPad mini. Also I have unlimited data on the mini which I will never let go and my daughter watchs Her Disney movies on long trips in the car trourgh the cellular unlimited data. I think for me there is a place for both in my life.

Coming from the 5, I thought the 6+ would be bigger than what I encountered. Everything isn't for everyone but I see the 6+ is perfectly fine for me. I think you made a good choice.

I never realized how much I used the phone one handed until I picked up my 6+ on release day. I used it for a day and it was just too big and uncomfortable. Exchanged it for a 6. If I didn't own an iPad i might have kept the +

Even as a Note 3 owner, I think one handed use is just the natural way people tend to use their phones. It's just more economical really, but I believe the tradeoff of having a larger screen and the benefits of it is worth it.

I'm currently trying to decide if I want to keep my Note 3, or upgrade to a 6 plus, or even a Note 4. I think with an iPhone again, I'd be less likely to upgrade all the time like I did with Android. The Note series clearly trumps the new 6 plus specs wise, but do specs even matter any more? I guess I need to head to the Apple store to try one out in person.

I have always laughed at android users with those "monstrosities". Thus, I preordered an iPhone 6. But, upon pickup, I was able to grab the same phone as the plus (64 gb silver). Figured what the hell, if it's too big (as I expected), I'll exchange it for a more readily available 6 instead of getting the 6 and wanting/waiting for the plus.

The screen is amazing. The size is amazing. And to be honest, I rarely talk on my iPhone in public. I guess one concern I have is taking this big thing out of my pocket for Apple pay when it's available.

Is it big? YES.

Is it great? YES!

I have zero plans on exchanging this thing.
Android users have been saying this stuff for years.

It's the same way for me. I LOVE this thing and am liking it more and more day by day.

how does it work in pockets when driving in the car, sitting, etc. etc. specifically back pocket

I've got a Spigen case on it. Very slim. Similar to the shape of the Apple leather. Open on the top and bottom. Barely wraps the bezel on the sides. Clear so I can see the phone. Hard shell goes in and out of pocket easily. Wouldn't sit with it in a back pocket. Didn't need the video to know that. As for driving or sitting it is fine in the front pocket of jeans but depending on your position you may feel it slightly.

I did get a Kenu AirFrame + for the car and put it on a vent so I don't have to slide it out of my pocket while driving. It was already difficult to get my 5 out of my pocket with my seatbelt on while driving. Works great.

I would never sit on a $900.00 device

I have had iphones since the 3gs. One of my new fold up style phone's got nocked out of its holster when I was fishing the day I bought it. Since then I put it in my shirt pocket and close it. If I have a holster on it I still put it in my front pocket and hook the clip over the pocket so it can't fall out.

You were wrong all along and only now realise it. I suspect most people on this forum would experience the same thinking.

Yes, only regarding the size. I'm no phone or computer nerd, but just lol @ android's interface. A complete piece of sh@t.

I finally got to hold one at an Apple Store today and couldn't stop smiling.. it's so sweet. Mine arrives tomorrow (if UPS doesn't drop the ball). Can't wait! :D

I have trying to tell people this since Friday morning. That flippin' size is perfect. You will never be able to go to a smaller phone again. I have a few friends that took the plunge (after MUCH debate) and they are so glad I talked them into it. iPhone 6 Plus = The best phone ever made in the history of smartphones.

I think most only consider it now since they are ''forced'' to get a bigger phone. With Android, you have choice.

But this is typical of almost anything. It's like when people feel that HDTVs are ''no big deal'' but when their CRT craps out and they get an HDTV ''they see the light''.

What a classy individual you are. Considering your history of being wrong. Well it's only a matter of time until you realise. :D

Sometimes I feel like the 6 Plus isn't even bigger than the 5s, but only in un-optimized apps. As soon as I see that giant home screen and the awesome landscape iPad mode I remember why I opted for a monstrosity. Yes, I love my plus.

Alright, taking it on my first week long business trip beginning tomorrow. The first week plus (no pun intended, honestly), I'll know for sure whether or not it's going back. I have a strong feeling I'll be keeping this phone though!

ifan before Apple release big phone: "look at that clown! Wth is he holding to his face ??? Ahhahaha"

ifan after Apple release big phone:
"the screen is amazing! The size is amazing! What an innovation!"

You sound exactly like a typical ifan. No offense

And you sound exactly like a typical fandroid. No offense.

Well, I'm keeping the plus. Had zero issues during the travel. I guess I'm just shocked I like a phone this big!
