You are not the only person who thinks that.
That being said I do know some people who really really like that phone. Not that I understand it but I know enough to not to say any of the negatives.
The item that got them was the keyboard and its very different design.
I have read the keyboard on it is really pretty nice and my understanding is it is a great messaging device.
But for Apple to make something like that the answer would be when hell freezes over. They would make something like the Motorola droid or Samsung Epic slid out keyboard before the flip out design and we all know that is not going to happen.

Lol, go by one then! The best keyboard phone ever created was the Sidekick series by Danger.
why the hell would I buy it, I personally own an Atrix. I kept my trap shut not to hurt my friend's feelings. Instead ask question on what got her attention with it and then got her help set up on the phone and directed her to some really nice Apps.
She does not like her husbands iPhone. She wanted a keyboard and I have read it is really pretty good and from my friend she likes it. When I get the chance I will check out the keyboard on it and see how it compares to blackberry.
I'm not even sure what some companies think about in their head when they make some products.

Honestly, I'm not even sure why they even bothered with that. I almost feel the same way about the new HP Veer. It's got a bloody 2.5" screen.

Agreed. I know a couple people that really like this phone. I think it looks weird but definitely has some flair to it. Definitely a unique looking phone, that's for sure. But as someone else had mentioned, if it was 5 years ago and this thing came out, I might be interested. The design, by today's standards, seem a bit antiquated. It's like an updated Sidekick for all those folks that missed out on it way back when
Folks, this is why you shouldn't do drugs. OP - Have you ever seen an Apple product even remotely as poorly designed as this? Ives will be frolicking in the fields of the UK before anything as ugly as what you've posted here hits production.
