It is, however, more likely to be a problem with a refurb unit because many people returned their computers with yellowing problems. I would be a little hesitant.

Don't be hesitant. Any problem that the machine had would have been worked out before being placed for resale. If for whatever reason it has problems, you can still return it. Good luck! :D

i know im late for the formum but just a simple question if i buy from reurb me and for whatever reason ther is a problem qith my imac can i go to an apple store and have it fixed or do i have to do it trough refurbme??

I should clarify. You don't buy from refurb.me, which is really just an information site, though it does have links to the apple store. You buy from the refurb section on the apple store.

Tons of MISINFORMATION in this thread. I just purchased a 27" REFURB ON AUG 2, i7, top of the line (Right after the refresh. The salesperson said they had over 800 in stock at the time, so I was hoping for a new one., not counting on it but hoping. I was also told that they would not sell a unit, REFURB or not, that had a yellow screen issue.) WRONG! It had one of the worst cases of yellow tint that some people said they had seen in a long time when I posted the pictures on the imac site. Secondly, you absolutely CANNOT return a REFURB to an Apple retail store; it must go through online sales.

Sorry to hear about your yellow screen, but I'm still not convinced there's a ton of misinformation in this thread.

I wouldn't expect you to be able to return your refurb at a retail store, but I've taken a number of them to the stores for repairs which is the most common question regarding refurbs and retail stores. If you were looking for an exchange you'd have to do that online as well because refurbs aren't retail machines.

Also, the discussion has generally suggested that yellow screens would be less likely to be found on refurbs due to the more intensive inspection. I still think that to be true, but it doesn't mean that there will be no yellow tinted screens making it through.

I hope your issue gets resolved quickly though. good luck on it!

ok so im buying the new i5 probably in october so heres my BIG concern im planing on buying a refurb in taking it to Buenos Aires where im going to be living or some time, but in case i get a yellow tint imac theres just no way im going to be sending it back and forth to the usa.
