i7 17" Scrambled Safari Graphics at times

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

I actually have my desktop get corrupted as well as my iTunes window. Like I said before it goes away after a while.

Scrambled Safari Screens

I have the same problem for the last few weeks with Safari. It could be coincidence, but it seemed to start happening about the time I installed Chrome. Chrome works fine, but I would prefer Safari, except for this problem. I also get occasional gray "RESTART YOUR COMPUTER" screens now.

My 15" 2.5GHZ MBP has the same thing and is in transit back from Houston. It happens in safari, and they asked me this. I have the dedicated 8600GT that was replaced (logic board) already. I wonder what they fixed...

Sorry to raise a thread from the dead, but my brand new 2011 i7 17" does this too! Anyone else have experiences with this on a 2011 MBP? I am still within 15 days so I could easily swap it out if its defective, but I would prefer not to deal with the data hassle as this is my work machine.

Thoughts?

Well, I'm not using Safari anymore. I'm using Firefox for my day-to-day business and Safari only for my website's twitter/facebook. No hard work for Safari.

Apple doesn't say anything about this and probably won't. You can try to replace your machine but I don't know if this is a known issue with all the machines or if it is a problem with some macbooks.

Anyway, in future I will think twice before buying Apple again. They could at least say "sorry, we don't know what is happening" but no, they say nothing.
