Edit: Got them into iBooks using iTunes. But no cover art! I wish iTunes could assign any cover art you like to PDFs.

You can add cover art for the ePub books; not sure about PDFs. Have a look under artwork in the book properties.

Upgraded iBooks and lost dictionary  Whenever I try to look up a word it says now 'Dictionary not available for your language' (my language is English). Does anyone know how I can revert to an older version?

I'm having the same issue as well with the dictionary.

You can add the artwork in iTunes, but when you hit OK and go back and Get Info on the PDF, it's like you never did anything.

Maybe Apple can fix this.

But you have to email a PDF to yourself in order to get it into the shelf?

Ok the confusing thing for me is that I already have PDF files in Books in iTunes that show up as checkable items when syncing Books
to the iPad and if I choose Sync all book these files do not transfer.

So iTunes seems to only sync what it finds under Books but if you have books that were scattered about in Unknown Artist folders because they were attached to iTunes U you're then forced to copy these to the Book and have the duplication/wasted storage first before you can get them to your shelf.

iTunes should be smarter about syncing things that are already known to the Library but exist outside of the Books folder.

Title says it all. iBooks for iPad with PDF available now.

easy workaround is to open the pdf up in Preview and paste your preferred cover art in as the first page. but it'd be nicer if iTunes would allow you to apply one

I hate that there is no 2-page PDF option. I have some PDF's (Primarily my JPG Magazines) that have two page photo spreads and it is a PITA that I cannot view them in iBooks. Hopefully this feature will come later, but it sort of sucks right now.

i keep wanting to use this app, constantly having the urge to read a book, but always get distracted by the page turning....

"pages left in this chapter" is now broken for me with 1.1 (for my own preloaded ebooks, not Apple's) :(

Shows how many pages left in book instead of chapter now, arch. Really liking the sepia tone though.

that's a relief, i thought i was the only one that sits there for ages, just pulling the page back and forth across the screen, trying to read the words backwards...

this happens on some of my own ebooks where the table of contents doesn't get populated correctly. I think iBooks looks for <h1> or <h2> etc tags and uses those as the chapter headings. I've got one book that it's working perfectly for, but another i am working on creating doesn't work for the pages left in chapter or the TOC

Hmm, I have the cover artwork on my clipboard but the "paste" button is greyed out. Any ideas or is pasting in Preview not possible?
