You can add cover art for the ePub books; not sure about PDFs. Have a look under artwork in the book properties.

Upgraded iBooks and lost dictionaryWhenever I try to look up a word it says now 'Dictionary not available for your language' (my language is English). Does anyone know how I can revert to an older version?

Title says it all. iBooks for iPad with PDF available now.
You can add the artwork in iTunes, but when you hit OK and go back and Get Info on the PDF, it's like you never did anything.
Maybe Apple can fix this.
that's a relief, i thought i was the only one that sits there for ages, just pulling the page back and forth across the screen, trying to read the words backwards...i keep wanting to use this app, constantly having the urge to read a book, but always get distracted by the page turning....
this happens on some of my own ebooks where the table of contents doesn't get populated correctly. I think iBooks looks for <h1> or <h2> etc tags and uses those as the chapter headings. I've got one book that it's working perfectly for, but another i am working on creating doesn't work for the pages left in chapter or the TOC"pages left in this chapter" is now broken for me with 1.1 (for my own preloaded ebooks, not Apple's)
Shows how many pages left in book instead of chapter now, arch. Really liking the sepia tone though.
easy workaround is to open the pdf up in Preview and paste your preferred cover art in as the first page. but it'd be nicer if iTunes would allow you to apply one
