I think it's a pretty good indicator that even the MacRumors crowd are unhappy with how Apple uses their resources.

The billions of people-hours that could have gone into fixing bugs or making meaningful changes to the interaction models for existing products with actual users – all wasted into a vanity project because Tim Apple wants to prove to his friends at Wallstreet that there is still growth to be had. Line must go up forever!
The MR crowd arent at all indicative of the general population...

Look at all the drama over crypto and EU alt apps stores.
The general population dont give a fig about this stuff.

Most vocal AVP detractors either cant afford one or arent the early adopter target market.
It's not an essential piece of kit.

But what it does and what Apple and devs learn from it will shape the coming decade as what works weaves it's way into other Apple products.

a lot of the immersive content has had a huge wow factor for me.. but the Ice Dive, Raye concert and Sharks wild life one (the last 3 i think) have not been great.

I don’t think underwater filming really captures what these cameras do best…

I will never forget the first time i saw the Rhino wild life one.. its completely shocking how real it looks!

Indeed. The most impressive videos often seem to include scenes where a person or an animal approaches the viewer and ends up appearing to enter the viewer's own space. The Rhino wildlife is one of those.

Maybe it's the closeups. The high wire Adventure makes me feel like I'm right there on that wire traversing the canyon. For some reason I didn't get that same effect from the parkour Adventure, possibly because many of the shots are distant shots and even the closeups show the action going away from you rather than coming towards you.

That said, give me more, more, more.... I'm still not satisfied!!!

These short clips from a trillion dollar company show how ridiculous unrealistic it is to expect full length sports events in VR in our lifetime
The Superbowl, the biggest rating event of the year, isn't even shot in 4k. It's shot in 1080p then upconverted to 4k for broadcast. To watch it, you most likely need to subscribe to a premium package of whatever cable/streaming service you have

This, at the time when you practically can't even buy a sub 4k TV any more.

i'm not buying a Vison Pro anywhere this price point.
Shocking! It's not available on TEMU for $ 5.99 🤣
But I really hope Apple hits it out the park with this kind of content.
well - it's IMHO not the content but the perception - people tend to like cheap things more - look at what people are driving, wearing or eating - I don't get the drift for cheap stuff - I like stuff that works and is top notch - the Apple Vision Pro absolutely meets that criteria a 100 %
Whether it is available at my cashflow.

Lack of decent content is why VR has never been more than an odd novelty.
Surely not

  1. The AVP is not a VR device but a MR
  2. It is embedded in the Apple eco system and thus to be seen as an additional contribution to it
  3. Virtual display, new argument content and business purposes are IMHO the selling point
Don't judge a product on your own use case but try to view things from the perspective of of others saving money with it or attracting clients with a virtual house tour of an expensive property or a luxury car or as a doctor with tele medicine ...

There are so many things you can do with it.

The amount of negative wining in here by people who don't actually own an AVP is nothing short of astonishing. And funny. The film was amazing to watch. Apple is playing the long game here. It is an early adopter product period. I am sure the same types of people assailed against iPhones and I don't know, Flat Screen TVs as stupid and of limited value. "What do we need widescreen for?"

Don’t forget HD, fullHD, UHD, 8 k … AM, FM, Stereo, Dolby Logic, 5.1, Atmos …

I’ve never had a problem with people not interested in Fine Cousine - nor would I ever criticize fast food lovers. But I have a clear perception of naysayers.

I know them from personal experiences and I highly dislike them - at least I would dislike them in case I had time for it 😂

And how many were returned and are still used??? o_O
your leading question alone is an insult - to say the least.

Do you think the usage of other Apple Product is much different?
Do you think the return quote is much higher than other Apple products?

I am pretty sure that many iPads and iPhones from Apple haters are not being used after initial try out following the negativeness in this forum. I even think that 60 .. 70 % of the Apple products are a total fail and useless - following the sentiment of many discussions here.

Luckily the share price couldn't care less about it 🤣

( got a multitude of AVPs in value in 2024 share price increase )
