Over the weekend I finally managed to configure the DNS settings, to allow iCloud use my custom domain. Actually had to move to another domain registrar in order to succesfully complete it, which is nuts to me. Anyway…!

The issue at hand now is that I can add multiple adresses on my custom domain in the settings in iCloud+, but when composing an email, it is not possible to select any of those additional adresses: It is only my main iCloud adress + one additional adress available.

Available options should be:
[account]@icloud.com
info@customdomain.com
[name]@customdomain.com

Is this a known issue? Mistake in my configuration?

When emails are sent to the not listed adress, it is coming through as it should and if I reply with that adress, then the same adress is shown as sender. It is just not possible to compose a new email using that adress. A bit limiting…

What I see when composing an email as options, when hitting the dropdown in the from field:

Additionally, here is what I see in the configuration in iCloud for Mail (for fun note the misspelling on the save button!):

Let's answer in my own thread. In parallell to posting here, I opened a chat with Apple Support and they managed to solve it. The solution was what I was reluctant to do myself: Remove the adresses and add them back again.

Now it is working like expected.

So easy. It was the only possible thing I could think of trying out, but was hesitating due to getting to this point was not without hurdles.
