Apple’s iCloud Private Relay service is down for some users, according to Apple’s System Status page. Apple says that the iCloud Private Relay service may be slow or unavailable.

The outage started at 2:34 p.m. Eastern Time, but it does not appear to be affecting all iCloud users. Some impacted users are unable to browse the web without turning iCloud Private Relay off, while others are seeing slow loading times.

We'll update this article when the outage has been resolved.

I am glad it's just not a "me" thing.

This morning around 11AM PST, I was having trouble loading remote content in Mail but it eventually resolved... sometime around 11:45 AM or so.

On one of my machines it has been down as of yesterday morning. I guess I was ahead of the curve lol. No issues with my other Macs though using the same Apple ID. Weird.

I was able to restore the Private Relay logging out my iCloud's account. The restart of the computer didn't solve the issue. Now that I have seen it's a server problem, I will wait until doing the same workaround in other devices.

Since yesterday around noon PST, Safari didn't want to load anything on my iPhone. Since other browsers were working, in the evening it occurred to me to toggle private relay off and on, which seemed to have fixed it at that time. Then today I got a notification saying it was not available and "Your iPhone will be able to use private relay again tomorrow".

You may be confusing the ability to turn it off for 24 hours?

I’ve been having problems since yesterday on my Mac and today on my phone as well. Glad to know it’s not just me.

Noticed the same on my iPhone and iPad. A restart sorted it out on both of them. I started experiencing this shortly after a brief power outage so I thought it was actually my router acting up. Glad to know it’s not a problem on my end.

Found it interesting that two MBP's that site right next to each other and have the same Public IP, only one got the notice that Private Relay wasn't working. I checked the one that didn't get the notice and Private Relay was working.

I keep this off because it’s causing me trouble on sites who are blacklisting the private relay IPs or marking them as trouble.
