I would if it didn't have the notch or cost so much.Just buy an XS Max.

That would be weird to have the iPod refreshed and even weirder to be all screen. And iPod with much better looking than the entry level iPhone 7?
Just speculating, it is a rumor anyway...
What about if this (presumed) iPod 7th Generation is Cook's replacement for the iPhone SE (sans cellular)?
Think like Cook:
Everything the SE2 should have been, without cellular modem.
And, absent the danger to cannibalize Cook's treble of high-priced, cellular-enabled phablets.
Why do you like scrollwheel better than touch screen?
Deleted, people were totally missing the point...
Looks like a placeholder to me. Too sloppy to be final.I would have said it's a placeholder to avoid revealing the design, but if that was the case, they'd just use the existing icon.
Interesting...

Could be, but the guy will have ruined his reputation if other devs don’t find the same thing.Considering the uneven spacing / sloppiness, it’s probably fake.
I will, good to take running as I prefer bulkier plus size iPhones. Also means I don’t have to worry about it getting dirty/ sweaty/ scratched/ broken as it’s a lot cheaper. This will probably look beautiful... but who will buy this? I don’t understand the costumer - please explain...
While I agree with you, there's no escape from these leaks. Even on Youtube people put the leaked images as a thumbnail and the specs in the title, so you can't ignore them unless you just don't use the internet. Not trying to be dismissive, but Perhaps don’t frequent a tech site that regularly reports rumors and leaks, You’re element of surprise can be fulfilled.
It’s tactile feedback. Why do you like scrollwheel better than touch screen?
You bring very good points here. I also agree that a simple internal refresh of a form 2 years gone is not something I can see even Apple doing. What’s the real selling point? I think your interpretation makes loads of sense. It never made sense to release a brand new device with a Home button that they’ve been working to obsolete in iOS.
The iPod may be too inexpensive to be able to include a True Depth array and the iPod never had Touch ID, requiring a passcode for security, so perhaps that’ll remain the same. All screen gesture UI but a passcode to unlock.
Ok, I can see that. But wouldn’t you rather have an Apple Watch, which is perfect for running; much smaller and tracking more things?Cool if true, I wonder if there will be a punch-hole cutout for the FaceTime camera or if it will be absent entirely?

It’s an iPhone without the phone, for people who don’t want a monthly cell bill. They use WiFi only. This will probably look beautiful... but who will buy this? I don’t understand the costumer - please explain...
They should just discontinue the iPod touch and release an unlocked, $399 iPhone to replace it. Make it plastic like the iPhone 5c, 32 gigs of storage with an A11 and a headphone jack. No Face ID, no force touch or fancy haptic engine. Just a classic iPhone.

If this had and OLED at least the size of the XS Max display I'd be all over this. Would fit in perfect with my Android phone + Apple watch + MBP setup.
