Notifications:

Allow users to fine tune where notifications will go from specific apps. The logic in place right now is:

If iPhone is being used then push notifications to iPhone
If iPhone is locked then push notifications to watch.

What if I'm using my iPhone and want all messages to go to the watch so I can reply to them without leaving the app I'm in on my phone?

Custom complications:

It would be nice if Apple could give us a few custom complication slots.

- Add your favorite app to the complication (the current icon of the app would be sufficient)

- Add a call/text shortcut to a specific person. How awesome would it be if you could text or call your significant other right from the watch face?

Watchface timeout:

Option to set the screen time out on watch face activation from 5- 30 seconds.

I like those ideas and even sent a feature request for the first one to Apple! Haha

For the complications though, I do no believe they will let you add an app there, it's not a launching place, it's for quick information (well I guess and also a launching place from there...but it needs information!). But I do they they will open it up for developers to make their own complications to go along with their app, you know? But it has to contribute something. That would be cool.

I'm very excited for the coming updates!

Edit: Also, I think the whole point of the side button is to be able to message/touch your favorite people/SOs now only from the watch face, but from anywhere. So it doesn't make sense to me that they would add a specific complication for that, you know?

You can answer imessages IN the notification-window without leaving the current app on your iphone. Just saying

Ideas for Apple Watch OS 1.1

I'm unfortunately still waiting for my leather loop Watch to arrive, but I'd say I've probably learnt about every function from reviews, videos and the manual. Even though I've not yet received my Watch I've jotted down some features I'd like to see in the hopefully forthcoming software updates.

Perhaps you'd like to list your wishes too.

- FaceTime audio calls support
- Beep on the hour/talking clock like Mac
- Sleep tracking (seeing as charge time is so fast) perhaps implemented with a "Zzz" icon in control centre which also disables notifications
- Wallpaper watch face
- Compass (does it have the hardware?)
- More watch face choices
- Find my Friends
- Few more animated emojis
- 3G/LTE or signal strength indicator glance
- Custom taptic patterns per contact

Sorry if some of these are already included - guess I'll find out soon!

I'll thrown in a couple.

Native 3rd party apps
3rd party watch faces
3rd party complications
Ability to put the watch into silent mode with the silent switch on the iPhone.
Custom calendar views (currently it mirrors the iPhone calendar view)

Activity app: weekly totals and suggest new goals.

- Reminders app
- More Siri support (less handoff)

For me at least....

1. UX Speed improvements
2. Reminders app
3. Notes app
4. Calculator
5. Siri speaking back to you option
6. Siri working and not freezing
7. Apps loading before the screen times out
8. Being able to adjust the screen timeout settings
9. Being able to select different notifications for sounds rather than the default ding.
10. The Jellyfish wallpaper actually showing the Jellyfish before the watch dims...yes this is the most important one.

Maybe more for the activity app, but a way to see what your record is for steps, exercise, and calories burned. Also a way to view friends stats for the activity app. For the watch, be able to type responses instead of speech to text. Maybe have a pop up keyboard that takes half the screen and shows 3-4 letters, A B C, D E F, etc and you use the crown to scroll through the rows and tap the letter you want. Maybe with predictive text.

1: More Watchface colors
2: Make the 'friends ring' button a favorites button that is customizable. I hardly use the friends ring, it's pretty dumb actually.

My best ideas hit me in the shower, or at night. I love to tap the screen and do a Hey Siri reminder when the watch is off my wrist.

So this is when the Watch is charging on the nightstand, or when I put Watch on a peg in the shower (away from water)

Passcode is needed for Apple Pay, and messes up the ability to do a Siri reminder when off the wrist.

Feature request - add a mode to not need a passcode when on selected Wifi network.

Apple Watch Software Update 1.1 [Wish List]

Hey guys,

I'm one of the people really hoping for an update for the Apple Watch at WWDC. What are you guys wishing for?

My list:

- Make it more snappier, fix some issues in delay with third party apps
- Finally approve main apps without connecting for everything with iPhone
- Finally make the App store more visible
- Add more watch faces or allow third party

-_- got me so excited that 1.1 dropped today! haha.

In addition to what you posted, the only improvement I can think of is to re-map the Friends button to something else.

We're about a month away from an update i predict. I can see the WWDC bringing out some new news and an update coming and wishfully thinking opening it more up for devs.

Time will tell...

I should have mine in 2 weeks based on shipping projections...would be nice to have a new toy and be updated and improved in a week.

For 1.1, I would settle for bug fixes and optimizations.
  • Notifications not getting pushed to the watch consistently.
  • Activity not getting updated quickly.
  • Haptic feedback does not trigger consistently.
  • Sometimes prompting for passcode even when it is worn tightly.
  • iPhone pairing does not work consistently. I sometimes need to disable then re-enable Bluetooth on the iPhone.
  • Wrist detection does not always work. I would prefer a setting for manual (tap to activate), default (current power friendly mode), and aggressive.

And for 1.2, few new features.
  • Address detector in Calendar, Messages, etc. so that clicking on the address invokes Maps app.
  • When the device is charging, add an option to NOT prompt for passcode when accessing features that do are not tied to user security/privacy (e.g., timer, stopwatch).
  • Flick gesture for invoking notifications and/or glances from the watch face.
  • "Mirror iPhone favorite contacts" setting.
  • More spacing between apps in Apps screen.
  • More flexibility in rearranging app layout.

Focus on performance, tell that product manager to 'stick it' with new features :)

One feature enhancement only for me though. Taptic on navigation can be selected for Walking routes only so you don't have to bother turning it off if you don't like it whilst driving.
