HRM data in 3rd party app (e.g. Nike plus)

Built in calculator and Tip apps

Notification of when I leave my phone

Be able to adjust sleep timer. The screen goes to sleep too quickly. I understand that will impact the battery, but I'm seeing 40-50% battery life left at the end of the day anyway.

A decent alternative to a built in calculator and tips app is the free CalBot app or the paid version CalcBot Pro. The app also does various types of conversions too. I'm not sure what the pro version offers as I have the free one at the moment but I suspect it offers more options like different types of currency, weights, measures etc. The free version isn't bad though. The pro version costs £1.49 here in the UK and is probably the dollar equivalent in the US.

The slowness has to do with the processor limited RAM, an update isn't fixing that

3rd party apps being natively installed on the watch would help. They save 2GB for music, something I will most likely will never use, but won't let 3rd party app be installed locally.

allow us to remove the frikin default apps
There's like 20 or something when I only need 3-5 there

For 1.1, I would settle for bug fixes and optimizations.
  • Notifications not getting pushed to the watch consistently.
  • Activity not getting updated quickly.
  • Haptic feedback does not trigger consistently.
  • Sometimes prompting for passcode even when it is worn tightly.
  • iPhone pairing does not work consistently. I sometimes need to disable then re-enable Bluetooth on the iPhone.
  • Wrist detection does not always work. I would prefer a setting for manual (tap to activate), default (current power friendly mode), and aggressive.

The bolded is the only issue of yours that I too have run into as well, maybe your watch is bogus?

Ability to:
Dial from the watch itself
Download spotify tracks to apple watch
Longer screen timeout
Faster animation load
Louder speaker for calls
Obviously faster loading apps

To me the force touch display is like a third button

But isn't that very app-specific, whereas the two physical buttons could be used without reference to an open app?

I see what you mean, but I don't know if I'd count that as a button. I welcome your perception though, interesting!

Answer a phone call on my BT headphones with my iPhone still in my pocket by selecting it from the watch face.

This!!! It's especially frustrating when you are trying to edit one of the watch faces and it keeps timing out.

You are right once you are in an app it is app specific and I wouldn't want to assign it differently. My thought was mainly from the watch face.

I sure hope not. The fact that it does not work all the time suggests software issue. Given supply constraint to get my watch replaced, I will wait for one or two software updates before making a Genius Bar appointment.

Speaking of haptic feedback, is it just me or force touch haptic feedback a bit laggy? Ford touch haptic feedback happens after I finish clicking, not during. On 12" rMB and 13" rMBP, feedback starts as I start clicking.

The things I'd like to see them immediately address in a 1.1 update are:
1. Allow you to adjust the time the screen stays it up.
2. Iron out some issues with Siri directing you to the iPhone for things the watch can handle.
3. Maybe a couple new watchfaces.

My biggest issue right now, like many, is slow third party apps and glances. I don't see this as an issue that will be fixed in 1.1 I don't think we'll see third party watchfaces or greater freedom for developers until this fall or early next year.

Agree about the jellyfish...

For me at least....

10. The Jellyfish wallpaper actually showing the Jellyfish before the watch dims...yes this is the most important one.

This one drives me nuts too. The same with the butterflies. Also, how about a "clear" and "send" button when sending drawings to friends. The way it is right now, you can't stop it once you start. Dumb.

----------

How about the ability to select multiples instead of deleting one message at a time??

I'll thrown in a couple.

Native 3rd party apps
3rd party watch faces
3rd party complications
Ability to put the watch into silent mode with the silent switch on the iPhone.
Custom calendar views (currently it mirrors the iPhone calendar view)

Activity app: weekly totals and suggest new goals.

On the contrary, I don't think a robust app library dedicated to the watch should be the primary use of the watch. Instead it should function with some sort of logic engine that is setup with your phone. I don't use my watch to look at Facebook, to read articles, or play games. It's something i quickly glance at to tell me what's happening, what's next, and what's in the near future.

I believe that the next OS should have that functionality. The watch face should simply tell the time with with a flick to the screen on the right telling you what's happening immediately including perhaps VIP status updates or major news events based on what you've selected as important on your phone. These are all things that are immediately happening

Another flick to a screen to the right should show what's next, where is your next meeting, are there reminders or to do list items to be completed, this is all stuff that's happening within the next hour.

A third and perhaps final screen should show you the near future, 1-3 days.

We can still use apps by pressing the digital crown, but in my opinion 80% of what we do should be relegated to the first 4 screens I mention above.

Sample drawing session from one of my friends:
  • Undetermined, then scribbled on.
  • Fish? (looks like a fish) Crossed out.
  • "Whoops." (he literally writes "whoops")
  • Pair of eyes.
  • Smile. (the eyes have disappeared before the smile was drawn)
  • Angry scribble on the smile.
  • Pause.
  • Pair of eyes with a smile.
All that for a smiley face. And I'm staring down for over a minute and a half before I finally get the opportunity to roll my eyes.

Glance Sets

Glances should be linked to the current watch face. I suppose by default you could have a single Glance configuration but you should be able to create more, which are linked to the current face.

The reason is that the faces vary greatly by available complications. For me at least, the presence of a complication removes the need for a matching glance.

I often use Utility with activity, temp, and next-event complications so I don't need a weather glance if temp is a complication that takes me immediately to the Weather app.

But if I choose a jellyfish with no complications, I will probably want to add more glances to accommodate quickly-available info.

Almost all of these suggestions are hardware related, related to 3rd party apps out of their control, or changes to functionality that works perfectly fine now.

"1.1" can't/won't change those things
