I'd be happy with some bug fixes, performance improvements, and some watch faces. I don't think the built in watch faces look all that great. More color options too. Why limited to so few colors?

For 1.1, I would settle for bug fixes and optimizations.

  • [*]Notifications not getting pushed to the watch consistently.
  • Activity not getting updated quickly.
[*]Haptic feedback does not trigger consistently.
[*]Sometimes prompting for passcode even when it is worn tightly.
  • iPhone pairing does not work consistently. I sometimes need to disable then re-enable Bluetooth on the iPhone.
[*]Wrist detection does not always work. I would prefer a setting for manual (tap to activate), default (current power friendly mode), and aggressive.

The bold items above may be related to the underlined one. Wrist detection didn't work consistently on my Watch either (more didn't work than did). When it wasn't working I didn't get notifications including haptic feedback and it required a passcode to unlock. I am waiting on a replacement right now. This very well may not be software. If it were me, I would put in my support ticket now.

I would rather they make Contacts a glance I can enable and disable and let me choose to assign an app to single, double and triple clicking the side button.

Agreed on the colors. It always seemed like I saw colors in between the allowable colors that were just the ones I wanted. But you couldn't stop at those colors

Almost all of these suggestions are hardware related, related to 3rd party apps out of their control, or changes to functionality that works perfectly fine now.

"1.1" can't/won't change those things

Allowing 3rd party app to install locally to decrease load times is not a hardware problem and is in their control

You sound like all the copy and paste is not needed on phone people pre-iPhone OS 3.x

We're already able to activate and take photos with the phone camera with the watch. We should be able to activate the video recorder and voice recorder from the watch.

Custom haptic notifications
The ability to set prominent haptic based on notification type or app
Voice memos
The ability to set one glance on each side of the watch face that are accessed by swiping left or right on the watch face
The ability to mute notifications for the duration of an appointment, that you can select at the beginning of the appointment

my List

- custom watch face complication slots where you can add a shortcut to your favorite app or to quick call/message your favorite person. (Yes I know there is a favorites button already. It's clunky)

- add heart rate as a complication.

- Taptic feedback when iphone is out of wifi and bluetooth range instead of just displaying the red disconnected icon.

- custom wallpaper watch face. Not the one advertised during the key note. Imagine the example below being the middle part of the watch face instead of the entire screen and having the complications remain on the outside in a different frame.

On the contrary, I don't think a robust app library dedicated to the watch should be the primary use of the watch. Instead it should function with some sort of logic engine that is setup with your phone. I don't use my watch to look at Facebook, to read articles, or play games. It's something i quickly glance at to tell me what's happening, what's next, and what's in the near future.

I believe that the next OS should have that functionality. The watch face should simply tell the time with with a flick to the screen on the right telling you what's happening immediately including perhaps VIP status updates or major news events based on what you've selected as important on your phone. These are all things that are immediately happening

Another flick to a screen to the right should show what's next, where is your next meeting, are there reminders or to do list items to be completed, this is all stuff that's happening within the next hour.

A third and perhaps final screen should show you the near future, 1-3 days.

We can still use apps by pressing the digital crown, but in my opinion 80% of what we do should be relegated to the first 4 screens I mention above.

I agree with you, I failed to explain why I listed what I did. The 3rd party data doesn't load fast enough to quickly glance at anything. I assume if the 3rd party apps were native, that they would load faster.

That probably isn't a safe assumption considering how slow the native weather app is. The activity app on the other hands works perfectly when I click on it from a watch face.

I think Apple Watch 1.1 needs to include a delete all button for messages with force touch. Kind of like the clear all for notifications. It takes way too long to delete all the text threads off the device because of the double "delete".

The one thing I hate about the watch is you have to have the iPhone with you for your watch to function, I wish the watch can do everything without the need of another device.

These are some truly amazing ideas. I hope you all submit them to Apple.
I'd like to see wifi calling support (assuming it's a hurdle that can be overcome)...for those hard to reach places.

Watch OS Update Wishlist

Mine:
- increased phone call speaker volume (if possible with a software update).
- more workouts added to the workout app (settings for squats and push-ups!)
- more motion watch faces
- way to view previous works out on the watch, not just the phone.
- stronger haptic if possible
- sleep monitoring (for those charge it before bed)

Native SDK for third party apps
More workout types - weightlifting, yoga, pilates
Third party complications
Siri SDK (iOS9 as well as watchOS)
Post workout data and graphs on watch/phone
Sleep monitoring
Digital touch extended to iOS
Voice Memo app
Reminders app
Notes app

For 1.1...

Something that Apple will announce " possibly " at WWDC?

Maybe be added or updated w IOS 9?

Or have a prior release?

Just curious on thoughts or opinions

Thanks

I bought the watch primarily for fitness, but I'm finding it lacks a few key things that could make it great:

- Ability to set target heart rates and provide haptic feedback when you are in the zone or drop out of the zone

- Add functionality to the iPhone app to mirror the active workout information in realtime (heart rate, distance, etc). I do this all the time with my Wahoo Tickr chest strap. So much easier to see my heart rate when I have my iPhone mounted on my handlebars or sitting on the elliptical.

When I put my phone in to silent/vibrate mode make the watch do the same. Similar to when I put my phone in DND and the watch puts itself in to DND mode.

I walked in to a meeting assuming when I put my phone on silent it put the watch on silent.. Yea, that didn't work out how I expected

Edit: On board GPS, as a runner this is probably the most important thing to me. I never carry my phone with me when I run so it makes the watch useless as a "sport" watch. I still have to use my Garmin and my MIO HRM band. But I guess thats a hardware refresh and not software :D

I'm not sure if it was mentioned but I would like to see watch faces based on your location. In example, when I get home (and connect to wifi or just GPS) the watch face changes to Mickey. If I leave it changes to something else that i've specified. When I get to work, it's ultra minimal and elegant.

PS, I haven't received my watch yet so i'm not sure if it does that already. :p

- One handed way to turn on display without raising wrist, such as a shake of the wrist
- Better home screen. The icon layout is a mess. Takes too long to launch apps. Should have option to use a grid layout with favorites, like on iPhone. Or allow user to run finger over icons, while showing the app title at the top, then release finger to launch it, like the OS X dock.
- Longer display timeout. Also, keep display on while doing tasks. It turns off while I'm dictating to Siri
- Ability to swipe to bring up glances/notifications from any screen, not just the watch face
- Repurpose the friend button, I never use the friend feature. Make it assignable. Such as 1 press goes to home screen, 2 goes to apple pay, 3 goes to watch face, ect.
- Two finger swipe gesture to switch between open apps
- Display should turn on when notifications come in
- Activity tracker shouldn't start over at 12AM, but when the watch comes off for the night. I'm a night owl.
- Workout app should have 1 screen with all the info. I can't swipe through screens while I'm working out, especially with sweaty hands.
- Bug fixes!!!

I could keep going, but those are the top ones.

Would love:

- Add notes after a work out or via iPhone in the activity app. That way I can remember how many sets and rep I do if I set a workout to "other".

- Workout for squats, weights and other various activities.

- More watch faces

I concur, except that I want the watch screen maximum timeout to be one minute or more.
Notifications:

Allow users to fine tune where notifications will go from specific apps. The logic in place right now is:

If iPhone is being used then push notifications to iPhone
If iPhone is locked then push notifications to watch.

What if I'm using my iPhone and want all messages to go to the watch so I can reply to them without leaving the app I'm in on my phone?

Custom complications:

It would be nice if Apple could give us a few custom complication slots.

- Add your favorite app to the complication (the current icon of the app would be sufficient)

- Add a call/text shortcut to a specific person. How awesome would it be if you could text or call your significant other right from the watch face?

Watchface timeout:

Option to set the screen time out on watch face activation from 5- 30 seconds.
