There won't be any Touch updates at WWDC. Apple wants you to buy the iPhone.

We don't know that for certain. I think they may drop the 8GB iPod touch, or lower the prices. I remember reading somewhere that these new iPhones will be cheaper than the current model.
I'd like to see Apple doing a trade in policy for those who have bought an iPod touch and now wish to change to an iPhone.
They most likely won't though.
However:
We pay for a new iPhone = More money for Apple = Better products in the future.

With all the talk of the iPhone having different colors, anyone think the iTouch will get the same. I'd love an iTouch with a black backplate. Also, I'v ebeen hearing rumors amongst the masses for a while about Apple dropping the 8gb totally and dropping the prices of the other two. Any possibilites? I mean, it seems the natural progression considering that flash memory is becoming cheaper almost daily.

The back of my Touch is blue! :D

Hmm. Just noticed that their Phone & Touch cases are 50% off. Look like they are expecting a change of product as well?

Nice Hunter... Anyone have any ideas about the color situation or the price drop?

When I bought mine five months ago, there were only three colors at the time.
It appears they have several more options now. I think its a great product.

I imagine they will have the same color selection when the new goodies roll out from Apple.

I was talking about the iTouch itself. With the rumors of the free iTouch, I'm pretty stoked.

what? there releasing a new product named itouch at WWDC?

anyway, theres not much more Ive really wanted out of my touch, mayb a boost in battery, and the ever popular flash, either way, not happening

First since the iTouch is so thin and does not come with a cell radio i would pop a GPS chip in it ASAP. A larger batter and the additional chip wouldnt make a big difference in the thickness of the device due to its extremely thin profile already. I dont have an iTouch but i assume the location feature is practically useless with just the WiFi data.

Second i would love to see a 5mp camera put into the top center of the devices back.

It's not happening. How do you expect to activate and subscribe to a GPS service on a freaking iPod? I've tried a couple of friends' Touches as well as Apple Store Touches, and the location it gives you has always been right in the center of where it says.

Also, 5MP Camera? Get real. That'll caost way too much. 2MP would be plenty if they do put a camera in. Id rather see it in the top right corner, though, mirroring its antenna plate.

Come on!!!
There will plenty of goodies for the Touch at WWDC.
The last thing Apple needs is customers mad at them again.

If by 'mad customers' you mean 'disappointed fanboys', they're used to it... they get that -every- keynote...

No, people are just shortening "iPod Touch" to "iTouch".

There will not be any revisions to the iPod Touch beyond possibly a 64 GB version. They will not be dropping the 8GB version at WWDC either. Since the BTS promo is giving them away, they're going to be around at least until September, when the traditional iPod refresh happens. This is where we will see iPod Touch G2.

However, the pricepoints of Apple's mobile devices will be shaken up. The new iPhone will take the current price of $399. Then, Apple will release the remaining stock of 2.5G iPhones for $299. BUT this is the iPod Touch's current starting price. The 8GB iPod touch will drop to $199 (coincidentally the same current price as an iPod Nano [and iPod Mini at the time], which the BTS promo has given away for years).

3G iPhone: 8 GB $399, 16 GB $499, (32 GB $599?)
2.5G iPhone: 8 GB $299***, 16 GB $399
iPod Touch: 8 GB $199, 16 GB $299, 32 GB $399, ($499 64 GB?)
iPod Nano: 4GB $124, 8 GB $149

--edit--
***This could be the basis of the '200 dollar iPhone' rumors
