I guess it depends on where the stuff would comes from that I'd get. Would the genie create paper money with invalid serial numbers that would get me in trouble for counterfeiting? Would the genie take the money from all of the poorest people, as a sick joke? Would Revenue Canada (like the IRS) audit me for these mysterious monetary gains?

It would probably be easiest to just tell me a winning lottery number, in which case I'd be getting between 1 to 20 million dollars, minus taxes.

A few days ago I calculated that I'd just need $750,000 to be able to "retire" now for the rest of my life, and be able to do whatever I want, accounting for inflation, etc.

Yes it would be. Think about it though, never losing anything. You could pass any law you wanted, just make a stink about it, go to court, BAM! You won, the law is passed.
