Maybe I'm not thinking about this as hard as you are but, if 1+1=2, and I, and everyone else for that matter, say 1+1=11 then 1+1 still equals 2. Right?

Well, in a philosophical sense, if everybody on earth believed lies, how would anybody know that anything else could be true? For example, if everybody on earth believed that Barack Obama was actually named James Smith, would his name "really" still be Barack Obama? I don't think so. It would then be James Smith, because in this case even the original "reality" was simply an agreement among people.

But other things are harder to think of that way. For example, the location that Barack Obama was born will stay whatever it was, no matter what people believe, but again, in a philosophical sense, as far as any sentient being in the universe (as far as we know) is concerned, he was born wherever humanity agrees he was born, and when all of humanity agrees on something, we can't know anything else. In our world it would then be true in a sense, that he was born wherever we all say he is.

In this way, we can't really know that Any of what we collectively agree on is true, because our collective agreement of it makes it feel true, and therefore we can't know anything else.

Excellent point.

Follow up question...

Do we really exist?

Do we really exist?

I think Something exists. Within energy and consciousness, forms can arise through which awareness sees itself, but beyond that none of what we have made up exists. These made up things include our names, identities, the separation between us, our jobs, etc. Basically everything that we can describe with language, and the concepts that we supposedly "understand," (whereas what's actually happening is we are Creating these concepts), are not real. Our identities aren't real. So in a sense, in terms of the way most people think of themselves existing, they don't exist, but I think there is Something which we can call "energy," although, with that being another label, and that label being the only door through which we can hold any mental understanding of it, we still can't really have any idea what it actually is.

The above is the only truth.

There's no such thing as a coincidence.

So, we are basically just pieces of energy performing routines ("going to work," "eating," etc.). However, our minds believe these things have meaning.

A lie, by definition, is the telling of an untruth. For one to lie, one must know the truth, and then tell the untruth. If everybody lies, then everybody thus knows the truth, but disseminates the untruth, yet the truth still exists. However, if the lie begins to be believed by everyone, it becomes the collective reality, albeit a collective delusion.

At one time everybody knew the Earth was flat. It, however, was never flat.

… At one time everybody knew the Earth was flat. It, however, was never flat.

I like this way of thinking about it. In everybody's own mind it became truth, but in reality it was not. People only believed it was. Same applies to everything.

Well in grey code 1+1=11 and is very true.

I have spent way to much time in binary this week.
