If I am waiting for the iOS 7 Jailbreak, do I need to update now so it's compatible?

Does it even matter? Android has huge problems with malware. That's the price you pay for having such an open OS. Not only that, but jailbreaking allows you to install pirated apps. I know that's not the main reason for jailbreaking for many people, but it's a reason that Apple would want to make jailbreaking as difficult as possible nonetheless.

You actually know that you can install pirated apps without Jailbreak right? I jailbreak not for that reason.

No expert in the JB scene, but isn't it good form to keep up with the blob saves for your iDevices?

It used to be, but right now blobs are useless for any phone past the iP4. There are some explanations, including a link to Saurik's post about the change to blobs, here: http://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/1nu3rt/can_someone_explain_why_shsh_blobs_are_no_longer/

Per Saurik, Cydia still saves blobs in case they are someday useful again, but to my knowledge that seems extremely unlikely.
