Take the money, then spam steve jobs' email from my PC until mac OS XI is released.

How many of you answering that you'd take the money have been without a mac for at least 2 years? I did it once and I found myself salivating over at apple.com every few hours. I even went so far to make my linux partition look exactly like mac os x. Not the same.

I've already sold out for $900. That extra $14,100 would be icing on the cake. I don't care to use either Mac OS X or Windows 7 (not Vista or XP tho). My Apple days over.

I went without OS X for the first 14 years of my life. :p

I use Windows every day and have no complaints with it. Now, the hardware I run it on is a different story sometimes, but that's beside the point. I could easily go without using OS X for the rest of my life. It's not "painful" for me to use Windows.

I'm surprised there are any votes at all for the OS X option. It's an operating system, people.

A few years ago, I might have said yes. It's not like I'd be losing money, but rather gaining money I didn't know I was going to get. But after having to deal with Apple's customer service just once about a year ago and being screamed at, I never want to buy another mac again.*

So it's $15,000 found dollars!

*subject to change if I get a job in a video related industry - I can live without OS X, but not Final Cut!

I'll gladly keep OS X - I make much more than $15 k with my MBP and MP. The days of using a DAW with Windows were so frustrating (hint - session crashes, data loss, blue screen of death, etc etc)

I have a Win 7 pc that I only use with Gigastudio - but that gives me trouble from time to time. Ugh. (yes, I don't install kazaa/limewire on my pc, in fact it's not connected to the internet at all)

$15,000 isn't nearly enough.

I'm assuming since I use os x at work, I would have to quit my job.
That would be dumb.

are you trying to say that i should stick to making music on windows? that place, that no one in their right minds would use for music! im sorry, but that sounds a bit silly lol!! :p

Using macs i hope to one day actually earn money making music one day.. soooo i dont think i could rely on windows for that.. its just a bit too unreliable for me.. i will take the high prices n all the trimmings if it means i can make music effectively, day in day out for the next 20-30 years.. :)

I want to say yes, but the process of moving computers, rebuying iTunes music(for Linux machine), etc....I'm pushed away from the idea.

Still 15k would get me a nice Ubuntu machine!
