If the iPhone 5C and 5S had the same specs / internals, which body would you prefer?

  • I'd prefer the iPhone 5C's polycarbonate

If the 5s has the same finish as the 5 (with the same wear problems) I would rather buy a 5c.

I'm assuming that they would be the same price as well? ($650 without a contract) In that case neither~ Reason as to why I want a 5C is because I'm a poor college student that has a crappy part-time job & crappy 3year old Andriod phone. :p

Since it goes in a case ASAP - what difference would the body material make to me. What isn't in your poll is price. If big difference in price that would make a big difference - if small difference go for the metal

While I go back and forth on the case part, I am all with you on the price part. If they had the same internals but the C was cheaper like they say, I would probably have to go with the C. Otherwise, if the C has lower specs and/or the same price, I'd go S.

People would think I was cheap if I had the 5C... the same thing I think when I see people with android phones (that aren't flagship).

You need some serious help, as do the people you think would judge you for your phone.

Seriously. Put down the phone, and come lay on the couch...

Also curious as to why you would go with your choice :)
I suspect if the internals were the same, the differentiation would be 5C - 16GB and 5s -32GB, 64GB and maybe 128GB. Based on that I would say the 5S.

I do doubt that the phones will have the same internals.

Those reports never came from apple. Until apple announces it's just speculation.

Dude, EVERYTHING here is speculation. Apple never announced the 5C either.

This site is still called MacRumors, right?

It may be more accessible to developing countries but it doesn't mean it won't be released in the US.

People knock each other over scrambling into stores to buy the regular/premium iPhone. They don't have a price problem in the US. If anything, they can't keep up with initial demands. Why would they willingly give us a cheaper option when droves of people throw their money at them?

Just my 2 cents. I may be wrong, but I guess we'll see in about a week. :)

That is bold but man........ if that were you to be right I'll come back here and give you huge credit! Not saying it won't happen or that you're crazy but its the first time I've seen someone come up with that theory and kudos to you if you're right.

:D

5 design, no brainer.

If in doubt, I take my 3GS out of the drawer, play with it for a few minutes, and shape aside, am reminded why I prefer to feel glass and aluminum. And it scratches less, plastic there's micro scratches all over it.

The plastic is still solid feeling, but eh.

To me no point going for the 5S if your going to put it in a case anyway, so aluminum and naked for me.

1 out of 4 people voting so far would prefer the polycarbonate 5C rather than the scratch / scuff prone aluminum 5S. Interesting :)

Metal definitely. The plastic on the 3G was okay, but not as nice as the materials on the original or 4.
Personally, I do think apple will release the 5C in the US to get all those people who only buy cheap smartphones. Part of android's appeal is that it comes in different price ranges, imnsho.
Several years ago, someone said they wanted apple to come out with an expensive iPhone so they wouldn't have to see everyone else with it. Considering that more people are apt to get the cheaper 5C, looks like you're getting your wish. :)

Well, you didn't specify price in your poll, but I bet most people are assuming the 5C will be cheaper, so that explains that (same specs, lower price, why not?).

Also, do you mean to infer that you think the polycarbonate 5C will be scratch/scuff resistant?

the 5c is hideous and will scratch and crack easily. it looks so cheap too.besides, itll seem like a step back for iphone. as if it was back to the 3g...

The 5S without a doubt. If I wanted a plastic phone I'd move to another platform and get it cheaper! I like the aesthetics of the iPhone 5 and the apparent 5S and feel it looks and has a premium feel. The 5C looks great but will undoubtedly attract a different type of audience, perhaps the teenage variety who enjoy the different colour options. it will also serve those who want an iPhone but not at the higher price the iP5S will demand.

If they had the same internals, would you rather have the 5C body or the 5S b...

I loved the leaked photos of the 5C... I loved the colors

But I'm still waiting to see if the iPhone 6 has a bigger screen... 4.3 or 4.5 is enough

5S no question. The design is very elegant, and will still be the best looking phone on the market with the iPhone 5 even if not the most advanced.
