Also, if you could let us know what network provider you use, and what settings you have changed?

Trying to find out what is causing battery drain for so many people.

I’m using a 12 Pro Max, on o2. I’ve just performed a complete factory reset, and have not installed any apps. I’ve also not changed any settings, apart from raise to wake, and I’ve added my email accounts.

Thanks in advance.

One thing appears to be similar with most people, is the fact that the drain only seems to happen during night time.

I’ve been losing roughly 20% through the night, with no app activity.

I have not experienced any battery drain on my 12 Pro Max.

I'm on a Canadian network, Telus. I don't know if there's anything special about my settings. I do have background app refresh turned off, which is something that I have always done for as long as that has been an option in iOS.

Do you leave your phone connected to WiFi during night time, or do you use cellular?

My 12 Pro Max has incredible battery life and no issues with battery drain. I can go 2 days without charging easily, with everything turned on. I'm on Verizon and only use LTE. 5G is pointless in my area.

I sometimes put my phone on wi-fi only overnight, but it doesn't seem to make a difference if cellular is on too. I don't think that I've ever lost more than 3% overnight. Usually more like 1-2.

The one time I was experiencing significant battery drain overnight (on a previous iPhone) it turned out that Dropbox was doing some major syncing overnight for some reason, even though there was nothing new to sync in my folder.

No unusual drain for my Pro Max. Most days I only have to charge every other night because I'm often using less than 50% per 24 hours, even though I use my phone pretty heavily. Pretty crazy, because I was having to charge my iPhone X twice per day.

Thanks for the responses, everyone.

I bet this is down to one weird little software glitch, as so many people are experiencing it.

No battery drain. I'm on AT&T and have not made any changes to battery settings or background app refresh. Setup as new and reinstalled apps from scratch. iPhone 12 Pro
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

So you’ve left all settings as stock?

Probably just dud battery...

We got two 6.1" 12 Pro's and one of them have strong battery health still staying around 103.6% but other one has been dropping very fast day by day and currently around 101% (it started with about same around 103.5% as other one but took only couple of days when it started dropping like a rock).

haven't noticed any battery drain on my 12 pro, not settings changes from my previous 11 pro, and used a mini in between. Auto brightness, true tone on, night mode automatic to sunrise and sunset

t-mobile, 5g automatic

What does battery statistic tell?

No drain here on 12 pro, except when playing games. The covid-19 alert stuff used to drain during night (at least when I had 6s), but not anymore, though it is still on top in battery statistic during night, but the battery level curve is flat.

12 Pro Max on AT&T. No noticeable drain here. All options set to stock.

The only issue is it not charging to 100% on my non MagSafe charger, but that's not a big deal to me.

(Likes to stop at 96% or 98%. I suspect that's battery saver tech in action.)

Mini, on visible Verizon mvno. Factory settings no drain. Initially when I first got it I experienced draining in overnight. However I believe either software updates or apps being updated resolved this.

I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max, my daughter has the 12. We have Sprint, which also uses the T-Mobile network. Battery life on both phones has been very impressive, compared to what we've (and other members in our family) have had and experienced in the past (iPhone 5, 6, 6+, 6s+, 7, X, XR, SE, SE2). And because our at-home WiFi has been a bit spotty and unreliable the past months, we've set our phones exclusively on cellular data and turned off WiFi (we have unthrottled unlimited data). We also have surprisingly been getting true 5G coverage (it is so fast!) most of time. All of that had made me predict that our battery life would drain all the more faster, but it really hasn't. My daughter and I can easily go a full day without worrying about charging at all, and on average having about 30-50% battery percentage left when we set it to charge overnight. We didn't turn off background app refresh, we don't have automatic brightness or True Tone on, we always have Bluetooth on, we use Personal Hotspot at least 1-2x/daily, we turned off raise-to-wake, but most other settings haven't been changed. I wouldn't say our daily usage is average, but more above average. No battery drainage issues so far. I've had my 12 Pro Max since launch day, my daughter's had her 12 since around Thanksgiving.

My issue has been regarding battery drain during night time. It doesn’t occur during daytime.

You say you charge your phone over night, so you wouldn’t know if you had the same issue.

Thanks again.

More than 15%? I went for 70 to 40s when I first got the mini but it’s fixed now.

I’m sorry, more than 15% during how long ? On screen non stop ?

I’m not really pay attention to this if it’s not too extreme drained. My last charge 96% (20.15) reading tapatalk until now (00.22), batt = 62%. Ip12 mini. I think it’s still normal

As I know, for newly set up phone, will have possibility drained because of the background backup - syncing thing. But it will stabilized later on once the mysterious cloud thingy settle down LOL
