I appreciate OP's question and don't find it in poor taste, I'm also curious about the market that Apple will find at this price point. Some of these responses are pretty amusing and do protest a bit much.

I make $190,000 and am single in my mid 30s living in northern california. At this point, an AVP would cost me about 1% of my life savings.

I really struggled with the decision but ultimately did not pre-order. Based on what I've read, AVP seems limited in its potential as a computer, much like the iPad. Otherwise, I might have splurged on it. 18yo me is probably shocked that I didn't, but I've worked for my money and it takes me more convincing these days.

Given that this product is hamstrung by the iOS model and is NOT a Mac, I see myself getting frustrated with it as I am everytime I give the iPad a try. I do not want to spend almost $4000 and get my heart broken.
