If you could have only one - 3G, 32 gigs or 3rd party apps?

If only one iPhone improvement was offered at WWDC 08, which would you pick?

I would choose 3rd party applications. I'd love to see some games, an ebook reader, Bible software, and a ToDo/Task list.

3G. Having a phone as amazing as the iphone with it's internet capabilities is that much better with the faster speeds. Plus, 3G allows for simultaneous phone/internet use. (Although 3G is even more important once the app store is up and running so you can download these wirelessly, etc).

32 gigs out of those

I use my iPhone for music/videos and am out of space completely on my current 8-Gig iPhone

Edge blows but works
3rd party apps will be nice but nothing outragous for me

Why do I have to choose 3g or not? thats a given. 3rd party apps, 32gb on my phone, not thanks.(but I'll buy it if its cheap) Use an ipod, most people got them already.

I would take 3G any day, no doubt, since the EDGE network is almost non-existent around here.. the few major cities.

I don't even use all the space in my 8 GB iphone now, so more space isn't needed for me. As for 3rd party apps, there's always jailbreaking as said before.

Absolutely true and valid. However, Apple is banking on the prediction that your friends *will* get an email-capable phone soon. Hey, did you know Apple sells one?

At the risk of bringing up the floppy drive thing once again, this is exactly what was said then. "But how will I share files with my friends and colleagues? This is ridiculous! Do they at least sell an external floppy drive?" Sure enough, it *was* a genuine problem for some people for a while. And Apple lost no sleep over it.
Its completely different; MMS is a software update, and should be available, just like external floppy drives were available, and a SuperDrive is available for the MBA, even if Apple does want the medium to fade away.

apps. 3G is cool, but EDGE is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. And 8 GB is already enough for me, so the extra space doesn't mean much.

3rd party apps, edge really isn't that bad, but of course I'm upgrading to the 3G iPhone.

I'm glad that I can have 3G AND 3rd Party Apps !!!!

UK Confirmations Thick and Fast

Over the last few days, I have rang round most of the UK's Apple Stores and simply asked assumingly if "the new 3G phone would be available for purchase as soon as it is announced?".

I got various responses ranging from "yes - we are expecting it to be" and "we've not been informed but we believe so" to the usual "we don't know a thing - keep checking the website".

On Thursday, I walked in to two o2 shops in central London and asked the same question: "Will you have the new 3G phone on Tuesday 10th after the Monday launch?".

In both store I was told "yes". In the Oxford Street branch, I speculatively asked "will there still be a 16GB version or are they only releasing the higher spec models?" the guy, who was obviously quite an enthusiast replied "we've not had any absolute confirmation yet as apple don't inform us or even their own stores until after the launch but our bosses are saying that there is a range of different options with the new model(S) and I believe that there is a 64GB version due to come out".

o2 are not as clinical with their secrecy as Apple will obviously have inside knowledge to forthcoming iPhones. This, it seems is chinese whispered throughout their retail stores.

If a 64GB version of the iPhone IS due out, then we should expect to see a drop in the price of the flash-drive MacBook Air surely?

Also, what would be the pricing policy for a 64GB iPhone? I really do NOT believe that Apple can increase its current top-end iPhone price. The iPhone has had 12 months on the map now and this phase (the next 12 months) is where they brutally go after RIM's Blackberry with all guns blazing - these are the only real competition and Apple will want to illiminate them in the same ruthless fashion in which it swallowed the music player market. Apple will only overtake RIM in the near future with very aggressive pricing.

7 days left - come on!!!!!

Nothing could be further from the truth. Apple stores will know nothing until they read it on the web themselves and get a shipping notification saying Product X is arriving at their store in a matter of hours. If Jobs publicly announces the shipping date and time, the stores will know that and nothing more.

It's pointless to ask Apple store and carrier employees about this. People who gave you any answer except "I have no idea" are sharing the same rumors they've read on sites like this.

Easy answer for me.

Unless there is 32 gigs, I won't really have room for apps.

So 3G it is.

I have an 8 Gig now, but only have room for about half of my music and no video. If I am going to upgrade I really need all three or it isn't worth it.

Also - I was talking to a friend who works at an apple store. I asked what he thought about new iPhones hitting the streets next week. He said that there has not been a word about it there and he has trouble seeing how they could possibly get ready for it by then.
