First and foremost probably Edward R. Murrow. A great reporter and journalist, one of the best ever. After that it would be Walter Cronkite, then Quentin Tarantino

...and if you could give them truth serum, or force them somehow to tell the complete truth, I would love to chat with:

1. George Bush, Jr.
2. The Pope
3. Dodi Fayed (spelling is probably way off here)
4. The senior general at Area 51

Gotta be Thomas Jefferson.
I would love to pick his brain about the current state of the United States!

wow would you ever have a lot of history to rebrief!!!

I'm going to have to say Steve Jobs. He's a very intriguing person, and it would be neat to meet him.

That said, and him aside, I'd like to hang out with Geddy Lee for an afternoon.

I can't think of any famous people I would desperately like to meet, but there's plenty that I'd happily have a pint and a chat with.

The person that came to mind when I saw the thread title (although I'm not sure he counts, having read the rest of the replies) was my grandad - he died 8 years before I was born, but I've always wished I knew him, he sounded like a top bloke. My granny (his wife) is amazing, and I think he would have been amazing to know too. :(

Osama Bin Laden.
Knock him over the head, deliver him to a Democrat so dim-wit Bush gets no credit, and take the 25 million reward. Then I can meet anyone I want.

yeah, that is a great idea.
Both my Mom's folks died before I was born, so I would really like a chance to meet them.
