Best one I found yet.

But seriously, I would build it myself.

Vaio Z or Lenovo X301.

Possibly Dell Studio XPS 13, although I'd want to have a look first.

Not much else I'd like really.

whats wrong with windows7?? its already better then vista
I would rather wait until a stable release ;)

BTW if you were to run Vista on a Mac it runs perfectly (unless you run to many programs at once though).

intel 5400 chipset
with 2 quad core intel xeon 2.50GHz E5420's
512MB nVidia Quadro FX1700 in the PCI
and start out at 4 2GB chips of RAM and slowly upgrade

:)

that would probably be enough to run windows XP as fast as Tiger on my mac mini

The main problem I've had with Windows is finding suitable quality applications. There isn't an FTP as good as Transmit, there isn't an unarchiver as good as unarchiver... etc etc.

There are millions of options but none of them are any good in comparison to the Mac version.

quality vs quantity..eheh

Definitely the dell mini 9 running linux. It is small and stylish and it's enough power. The hp Touchsmart is beautiful and Kinda looks like the cube-era apple displays. I would run linux on that too.

There are no decent free FTP apps for XP. None. Zilch. At the moment I'm using CoreFTP but it's very pants.
Unarchiver? Winrar is better, and you can compress with it too.

I'd learn towards a nice netbook....maybe the Dell Mini 10

Or that Netbookish laptop Sony came out with recently(the name escapes me)

For a windows laptop I would get a VAIO P, and FW series
For a desktop the new Dell Studio XPS 435 with i7.

If I went PC I would build a tower to roughly Mac Pro specs (with some gaming hardware). It would dual-boot XP and Linux.

I'd also get an Eee PC laptop as my mobile.

Sony laptops look nice, but are trash reliability wise. My company uses all Lenovo laptops which are reliable, but look like trash.

I guess that's why we choose Apple--best of both worlds.

In all likelihood, I'd go for a Dell XPS PC or a Precision Workstation and a Dell XPS notebook. (As a matter of fact, I'll probably get a Dell XPS notebook at my new job - Apple's not an option there.)

I'm using fileilla with some of the toolbars and icons disabled. Just tried to make it look most like transmit.

Unarchiver? Winrar is better.

Not for my use. I just want to click and it to unrar. I use rarzilla because it does that, but it's not that fast or pretty. I'd love just a bar. That'd be perfect.

Yhup Apple are both look like trash and have bad reliability :p hehehe

As I said in the other thread, for a laptop: Dell business class (Dell's consumer machines eat ****), Toshiba, or ThinkPad.

For a desktop, build it myself.
