While I prefer Macs, I don't presume to believe that my needs and wants are the same as everyone else's. I would ignore it other than to tell them that they should get what best answers their needs and wants.

I'll be honest...

If this argument was about trying to influence someone on what their future purchase should be, I'd join in and probe a little bit and find out more about the person who's making the purchase. If I felt this is a person who would benefit from Apple products, I would then move onto explain how the rest of the Apple ecosystem works and how it manages to tie in all products so seamlessly. For me, that is the biggest appeal with it comes to owning Apple stuff. Everything "just works" together so easily, so I would sell them on that.

Now, if the argument is just a matter of two nerds battling over who's got the superior product, then, no, I would stay out of it because there's nothing more frustrating than arguing your points with someone who's determined to "win" and be right no matter what. I've had those arguments before (iOS vs. Android) and I've come to realize that it can be as messy as debating religion, politics, or abortion.

I wouldn't join in, unless I saw one of them spouting pure lies.

I agree! I've often heard some of my friends (talking to others) about how iPhones and Macs are inferior because of one thing or another and I've caught them twisting the facts or straight-up lying. In situations like that, I'll gladly jump in and call them out on their uneducated, biased statements.

It seems that barely anyone would join the Mac side. Not exactly the answer I'd expect on an Apple Based forum.

Please go to wikipedia and check the definition of "trolling".

Oh, no need for wikipedia. By trolling, you intentionally want the community to dislike your topic.

And that's not the intentions I had when I posted this thing. Who knows, maybe you're trolling by telling me I'm trolling (reminds me of Inception).

I can usually refute any claims about a mac's inferiority, except if they mention high performance hardware. We don't have that in anything but the Mac pro (if it ever gets an update). Sad truth... Other than that, there is no fight I can't win. The truth is though, there are few Mac vs PC fights where the PC guy isn't biased in some way. Staying out of these fights is usually difficult. Winning is near impossible if the individual is a kind of gremlin known as the "gamer geek". Sorry, being good at getting a headshot across the map in a video game and knowing how to remove your WTF folder, doesn't make you knowledgeable about computers, sigh...

im a happy owner of both... so i see no reason to argue
now i we are to argue about something relevant, like nvidia vs ati...

:p

I would whip up the mob, light torches and have them both burned in huge wicker effigies of each others' computing choice.

And there would be pie.

I'd wait for one for side to destroy the other. Then I would annihilate the victor in his weakened state and claim both machines for my self.

Wait, what? They're arguing the superiority of the machines?

Kill them both for the good of humanity? :p

I concur. Every knows Linux is superior to both. :D:D:p Sorry, went into internet troll-mode for a second there.;)
