There are certain things I don't mind putting on my internet.
--> smart bulbs ... I can use other sources of light, if I'm desperate.
--> smart outlets... If something randomly turns off or doesn't work, it's usually not a big deal.

But there are certain things I will not allow my internet to work with:
--> fridge ... not sure why I'd need this
--> monitor / TV ... I don't want my TV to be intelligent, it should only display things from the other device controlling it

There are already enough ads on the internet, and the internet has gone to hell. Why would I want my fridge doing the same thing?

...

Many routers now also offer the option to enable (completely separate) networks that are entirely independent (and thus isolated) from the user’s main network

...
Yeah... unfortunately I found that modem/routers from ISP's offering "guest networks" often are not that isolated as advertised. On some I could easily detect every device on the owners network, both wired and wireless, without hacking the modem/router.

Many people are able to understand the principle of if it's free then it is probably being financed by the use of adverts. TV, radio and the for the most part, the internet. BUT if people are paying for their products/devices then the need for ad's is just pure greed.

Apple are a trillion dollar company and they got there without the need to ad's. So why the need for ad's? are they making huge loses every year and need the money from advertisers to keep the company afloat? no. So why are they doing it? greed.

Which is why Samsung are doing what it is they are doing, just pure greed.

A couple of years ago I remember seeing DIY youtubers making 'Smart Mirrors'. They were building mirrors that had tiny computers built into them that displayed info on the mirror. How long will it be that every new build property will have 'smart mirrors' as standard in bathrooms and other rooms built into the property for the purpose of being able to show ad's to the home owner. We see ad's on the TV, we hear them on the radio, we see them in DVD's and Blu Ray disc's, we see them on our portable devices, mobile phones, watches, tablets. We see them on digital boards in shops, at train stations, at bus stations, at bus stops. Anywhere where there is a digital screen big enough to display an advert, the company making the product/device will make it so it can show adverts.

The more digital advanced society becomes, the more adverts society will be seeing and in more places as well.

You have just produced the best case for Vision Pro.

An ad blocker for real life and all these sneaked in extra advertising techniques!

(Many years ago, for the first time I came across pay TV in the UK. Somehow I simply had not realised that despite paying to view, we would still get advertising, albeit maybe not quite so many minutes per hour. If I'm going to be subject to advertising, I'd rather not pay.)
