Your iPhone is gonna be on an adventure.

Zhengzhou (China) -> Incheon (Korea) -> Alaska (US) -> ZhengZhou (China) -> Incheon (Korea)

and...

you will receive a message on your UPS tracking, which would say that your iphone couldn't be loaded onto the intended cargo plane..

Don't be worried if it "jumps around" China locations in UPS tracking. Many past iPhone pre-orders do the same thing as they make their way through customs and eventually onto the plane. You'd be surprised how fast things happen overnight with UPS, so even up until 11/2 tracking might seem weird until it hits the states.

Especially with UPS automated spoke and hub delivery system- packages can be literally flown over your state, and back within a 12 hour or less time frame.

Best to not pay too much attention to tracking as it is not known for accuracy until it is on its way from Alaska to your local hub. It can show some crazy tracking.

What happened with the iPhone 7? Care to elaborate? Thanks!
Last year ups showed the phones leaving China and arriving in icheon Korea and then arriving in Alaska. Then a few hrs later it showed the phone leaving China again, then arriving in icheon Korea and arriving in Alaska again. Obviously it was tracking system issue. Some phones also got delayed in customs or some people had “mechanical failure” exceptions that caused phones to miss flights causing delays. So the way most people got them on launch day.

It took the trip you see in the first post. It appeared to be making redundant trips back and forth and timelines didn't really make sense till it arrived in the States after AK.

Quick synopsis:

It's finally here!!! From China to Korea back to China then Alaska to Kentucky, THEN Michigan then Ohio, and now with me!!! The damn UPS vehicle passed my house 3 times during this trip to eventually get to my door ..... that's UPS Logistics!!!

I now feel an emptiness inside, now that this journey is over.... NAAAAAAH!!!!! I'm about to play with my new phone!!!

I MAY see you guys again next year for the iPhone 8 roll call , but at least I know what to expect!!!

It's ALIVE!!!

Needless to say, there were extreme weather conditions in Asia that year also, that added to the fun!!!!
:( resulting in UPS doing a special Saturday delivery!!

If you're really bored and have free time, there's a 200+ page thread "
Roll call - Oct. 4th - Oct. 10th original ship date"
!!

Mine says its still in china, but when i was on the phone with ups discussing a delivery change cancellation i was told this was not accurate.

The ups enployee said that their internal system showed that it arrived at their hub in kentucky... this was over 24 hours ago and still no update on tracking. Have no fear guya

Did anyone actually not get their phone an launch date because of that rerouting issue last year? If I hadn’t been tracking it on the UPS Site, I never would’ve know. Apple sent me the Shipped notice later that week and it arrived on time.

Yeah just be busy, do your work, time will pass, soon you will have it and starting to get bored after few days. Then you will start looking the info for X Plus. This is the cycle we are circ

This thread helped calm me down, since my phones are showing as if they’ve been in China since 10/29. The charges on my card finalized yesterday, which caused me to become anxious. I preordered from Apple using AT&T Next.

Still in China - or system says it is still in China. Systems sometimes are showing bad data, not updated, etc.

Often two very different things.
