Mine shipped from Pennsylvania earlier this morning. My Verizon pre-order showed “processing” last night. First tracking data this morning.

Last year ups showed the phones leaving China and arriving in icheon Korea and then arriving in Alaska. Then a few hrs later it showed the phone leaving China again, then arriving in icheon Korea and arriving in Alaska again. Obviously it was tracking system issue. Some phones also got delayed in customs or some people had “mechanical failure” exceptions that caused phones to miss flights causing delays. So the way most people got them on launch day.
Partially because of the time difference? All flights from China to west coast lands BEFORE it takes off

No, not caused by time zone differences. The UPS website was logging arrival and departures twice, so it would appear that the phone left China, landed in Icheon, then Alaska. A few hours later new logs showed up showing the phone departing China, arriving in Icheon, then in Alaska. As if the phone had magically returned to china to make a second trip.

Your “X” is in PA? Mine is still in China. Who else has a USA location in their tracking?

I think that's with just Verizon. All Apple orders are still in China from what I've seen so far but I imagine we will see movement sometime today.

Also this was iPhone 7 tracking last year.

Did anyone actually not get their phone an launch date because of that rerouting issue last year? If I hadn’t been tracking it on the UPS Site, I never would’ve know. Apple sent me the Shipped notice later that week and it arrived on time.

No but I do remember waiting for my 6+ (or maybe 6s+). It was sitting in Louisville KY for customs for 3 or 4 days. It missed the advertised arrival date that Apple stated (not a release day order, it was a few weeks after)

No change yet...I was thinking maybe UPS wasn't updating their system. It's also not showing up in My UPS app yet...I'm still using track by reference....
For the record I ordered from the Apple app and it's AT&T phone

I don’t believe that it was ever stuck; it just hasn’t left there yet. This is a common occurrence, IMHO.

Why stuck? This is normal.

Happens every time. There's no delay from the flight to your door. It would be a huge PITA, if they had to store these things somewhere else.

That’s what I meant.
Say the iPhone departs China at 13:00 Monday, arrives Alaska at 09:00 Monday. Then when it comes to 13:00 Monday in Alaska, there may be a bug that will enter the 13:00 Monday China departure again..

Still in China - or system says it is still in China. Systems sometimes are showing bad data, not updated, etc.

Often two very different things.

Due to logistic and operational reasons, UPS' best rescue ops fail to secure your iPhone along with others from Foxconn hostage crisis.

God speed.
