I actually find that toyota beeping to be really ***** annoying.
 
On my Camry it doesn't honk, on my Pilot it will if I hit the lock button twice but I usually only hit it once.
 
My 330i blinks and beeps but is pretty unobtrusive--more like a whisper--and I have to agree with Don that it is less offensive than the honking.
