Where did you find Parallels? I've been looking for that for a while but haven't been able to find a version for Mavericks.
I already had Parallels 10 and simply upgraded to 11 which is the last version to run in Mavericks. However, there is a page to download old versions here: https://kb.parallels.com/5802 - v11 is there, but after you have downloaded it, you'd still need to persuade Parallels to sell you a licence for it (though you could try eBay and see if anyone is selling a copy?).

..just making sure your guys know of the work Wow has done in providing these software options:

I was originally going to write a very long post with all the great software and compatible versions I've found, and I may still do that at some point, but it's going to be REALLY long and I don't know when I'll get around to it.
…this is what I was envisioning. I just didn’t realize it would take me five years! :)

There's a saying we have in NZ, wow - mainly due to an old TV cheese ad:
Good things take time ..

Off topic: your 'Firefox Dynasty' link helped me in my Linux adventures too.
Recently installed ' °Exe gnulinux' on a atom powered netbook. It included firefox but was a pain to use, but in searching for dynasty found 'Nightly' - starts up much faster and more useful.

..so thanks for pointing in a better direction.
