i've pre ordered mine but its still under processing and the delivery date is Dec 7 - 14.
Yes. It's due to better math. When they talk about pixel size, they are talking about area. You just did the math on one side of a pixel. If you do the math for area you'll get: (1.7x1.7)/(1.4x1.4) = 1.47Disagree with their Analysis !
1.7 um / 1.4 um = 1.21x, OR in other words, a 21% increase in size.
Thus, 47% - 21% = 26% is due to something else !
What are you talking about? Sensor Shift is described as image stabilization. Other than bad math of the size of this "border," where is the conspiracy?Image Stabilization, & more-specifically, LOW-light Image Stabilization !!!
The "Border" would NOT be used for Sensor Shift color-sampling.
Check your work before blaming others. For some UN-known, a Lack of Basic Common Sense has run rampant over the internet the past few years !
Ah, yes, first world problems. That battery looks so ugly.
What the hell does it matter? It’s inside the device and never seen unless you open the phone up,LOLThat battery looks so ugly.
My XR is at 91% battery health and I still usually get 2 days out of it.This is the second two day battery phone I’ve owned. It’s nuts.
It is massive. Ridiculously so. Especially since it’s not as narrow as my current ”Plus” sized phone and with ridiculous squared edges. I pay no mind to the “it’s easy to use, you’ll get used to it” people on here. You never get used to it. You tolerate it. You deal with it but it’s always a pain (literally) to navigate. And yes, I wear regular sized man pants (or shorts) and it’s never not noticeable.I don't know what to think about this one. I tried it at the store and it is impossibly massive.
Well, do you even have a lot of places to go? Did you use your cellular antenna or just your wifi at home? Any additional information that could actually contribute? Thanksi've been ending the day with 45% left on pro max. and that's after forgetting to charge the night before
i work from home so covid hasn't really changed my habits. i go out to pick up lunch and dinner. i also run outside for about an hour streaming recorded cable news via AT&T TV over LTE every day. i use wifi at home. i have not tried 5G yet.Well, do you even have a lot of places to go? Looks like Apple has mitigated this a bit after the 11 pro as before that my wife and son had to return the phones and go back to LCD. I only notice this first thing in the morning after that I am able to adjust.Still no mention of PWM problems with OLED screens by Macrumors. The whole iPhone lineup is OLED now and it causes major problems including health effects for a subset of affected users. And nothing. For some reason Macrumors refuses to do any news about this, despite several threads right here on this site with thousands of comments.
This is misleading. Sure, any iPhone can have 2, 3, or 4 days if you leave it on standby enough. This is the second two day battery phone I’ve owned. It’s nuts.
Mine is the same. My 11 Pro Max battery was great and my 12 Pro Max seems to be the same. Also camera physically looks way larger on the 12 Pro Max against the 11 Pro Max. Did not need a tear down to confirm that.i've been ending the day with 45% left on pro max. and that's after forgetting to charge the night before
Not sure why you’re saying I’m being misleading? It is a two day phone for a lot of people and it wasn’t on standby, just low brightness and on wifi. This is misleading. Sure, any iPhone can have 2, 3, or 4 days if you leave it on standby enough.
For ultra users, meaning those of us who use the phone nearly all day, the 12 pro max won’t go past 5-7 hours.
I charged my 12 Pro max for a trip to DC at 10am... and by 5:30pm my battery died.
I’d be impressed if apple could make a phone that lasted 12 hours under heavy use.
I use 60-100% brightness and cellular and WiFi mix. I’m outside in the daylight, and then indoors. As most people, or even drivers do. You expect 6 hours, maybe 7 using it as a power user. Not sure why you’re saying I’m being misleading? FYI, i am a heavy user too but it’s still bloody impressive this phone lasts as long as it does. I took it off charge at 8 and was out in city all day taking photos with 4G on and it was around 30-40% when I got home at 6.
In other words, your use case is completely different then @TechGod’s use case.I use 60-100% brightness and cellular and WiFi mix. I’m outside in the daylight, and then indoors. As most people, or even drivers do. You expect 6 hours, maybe 7 using it as a power user.
People who enjoy a bright screen, and use cellular, Uber drivers, gamers, heavy users can expect no more than that!
Hopefully those that are affected are reporting this as feedback to Apple.Still no mention of PWM problems with OLED screens by Macrumors. It other words, I illustrated the devices limits battery wise. Which could be important to heavy users and gamers alike. In other words, your use case is completely different then @TechGod’s use case.
I see many posts from others indicating that they are getting tremendous battery life from their iPhone 12 Pro Max. There is nothing out of the ordinary or misleading to those posts. Does that mean everyone will get the same battery life, of course not. Just as not everyone will get really bad battery life either. There is nothing misleading to posting that you are getting really good or really bad battery life.Mr. Skelleton said:It other words, I illustrated the devices limits battery wise. Are you wearing 90s cargo shorts?I can fit my iPad mini in my shorts.
The phone Is manageable
I have regular to large-ish hands and I still can't sign on to the "you get used to it" groupthink. I'm still getting used to the thumb gymnastics of invoking the control center on the 11 Pro. I want that sweet 12 PM camera but I can't imagine using anything larger (or fitting it into my jeans pockets) than the 11 Pro.Nah you get used to it. Seriously. Unless you have smaller-than-average hands, it is fine to wield. I couldn’t imagine using anything smaller.
