You think we're too hard on him...? He stole the name of one of the most profiled and talked about posters here at MR and are currently in full spambot mode, making only partly funny comments to every thread available (at least Lacero had a good grasp of sarcasm, although harsh at times). That should qualify him for some bashing, or what...? 🙄

well he is mimicking/mocking Lacero. who was a huge poster here....
but the main thing is that this person is spamming all over the place, and quite frankly it can get annoying.

sorry things have been so crappy this past year with your gear Gary, they can only get better though right?

Ok well first off he didnt even know a member called LACERO existed so that can in no way be his fault. As for spambot, well he posts a lot(but a lot of members do that) and some may not be very relivent, like the post about lent, but if he were truely spaming I would think his posts would be shorter. Fine so hes not completley on topic but have you read every other thread out there with a shiteload of multi-useless posts?

on topic: bad luck iGary, the only apple thing to ever crap out on me was my airport express but they replaced it within a week. As for the dell comment, rob deserves a spanking😉

If you see the average post length, I think you'll find that it's not many words... and even if most people get off topic every now and then (like us now), he hasn't a very high contributing/spamming ratio, has he... most other highly profiled posters has...

hopefully when you get back from GA they will have it humming like new for you... Where you going in GA? i used to live in ATL... great city!

I'm personally terrified of being identified as a spammer, or being seen as someone who doesn't deliver insightful/relevant posts. On that some note, although some of Lacreo's comments could be seen as a tad obnoxious, I have to be fair and remind users of the 'ignore' function. If you find some of Lacreo's comments annoying, there's always the option to block he/she/it. 🙂

To get back on topic:

iGary, have you tried complaining? I mean, not a simple whine, but a let-me-talk-to-your-supervisor bloody murder bitchfest. Explain your situation, vehemently express your dissatisfaction, and you never know what'll happen! When our keyboard started acting stupidly a week out of the box, my mom tried the screaming technique and got a free replacement one.

Just an idea.

Can you imaging working on that 12" iBook for anything coming off a 30" display 🙁

Really, though, I don't have a 30" ACD. But I have a 17" iMac, and with OS X, although I enjoy the extra space, I find the 1024x768 on my iBook very usable. 🙂
 
Gary, that sucks. It sounds like you've had a hell of a year. If I dropped that much loot on what sounds like a hot workstation I'd be RANTING.
And on the floor, kicking and screaming, wailing like a baby

Well, the video card is going back to ATI for the second time in two weeks this morning - hopefully they just replace it.

I am going to Saint Marys Georgia from Friday till Tuesday, so I plan to take it into the Apple Store Thursday afternoon and tell them to put the settings for sleep on 15 minutes, and to keep doing it until the machine does the jet turbine fan thing.

I'll also tell them to try and boot it a dozen times in different modes to get it to hang on boot (it will only give a half-chime sometimes - WTF?).

I'll also tell them firmly, but nicely, that it would be nice to have a machine I enjoy again, because this one is just pissing me off at this point. Hopefully they reproduce the problem, get the effing thing fixed, and this will be history next week.

I know I'm being a whiner and an attention whore, but I'm kinda fed up with this.
